Wtf,
You seem to forgot the main goal which was to achieve the WW record and that was done. Honestly, entitlement by some is just off the charts.

So beautiful seeing Avatar not at the top of this list.

99+ percent of the population doesn't care about inflation/ER and simply knows that Endgame is #1. The semantics matter to almost no one.

If EG couldn't get an extension because of local bias, wouldn't that severely hamper the legs and supposed might of Avatar 2 in China? (Not turn go off-topic, but I find it interesting that there is a supposed cap on how well a movie can do in China if this is accurate).

Amazing accomplishment for Endgame. Really looked like it wouldn't get there for a second. Great and deserved second wind.

I see mentions of OS final grosses on movies eventually turning out to be higher than initially thought (when the results are simply being reported week-to-week during release). If this is a genuine effect, would it be possible with some special effort from Disney's accountants to get a true up-to-date WW total that adds some of those missing millions in a more timely manner?
I ask because two weeks from now the Avengers cast reassemble with Feige for a Marvel panel at SDCC and it would a hell of a time to make a surprise announcement that the WW gross had hit $2788M.
Remotely possible, or not really feasible?
It wouldn't be a good look from either Disney or Marvel to do a literal public announcement/celebration. I would think Feige is above that kind of pettiness.

Peter's entire reason for keeping his identity a secret in Homecoming had to be boiled down to "Aunt May can't know" because they couldn't use the "it would put my friends in danger" excuse. Well now Aunt May knows and where does that go? Nowhere, it's all fine. We don't even get to see the immediate fallout because it happens between films. She just knows, and it's all fine for Peter. Everything is all fine for Peter. He loses his suit? It's fine, of course Spider-Man wouldn't have any money problems (even though that's a key element of his character) because of Tony Stark, he just gets a new suit perfectly equipped with everything he needs. It's all juuuust fine for Peter.
I can pretty much guarantee that his identity being revealed (and thus destroying the most interesting aspect of Spider-Man as a character) is gonna end up being just fine for Peter. We probably won't even see the immediate aftermath of it similar to the Aunt May stuff since both movies end in the exact same way. Shit, it's probably gonna be played for laughs.
They also threw out the thread with Keaton knowing his identity. Both the mid credits and ending from Homecoming were concepts/consequences that were trashed.

So Brazil, Italy, Indonesia and India all haven't dropped the re-release yet but are confirmed to?

I'd be interested to see them do some really insane thing of re-releasing all 23 movies from Phase 1 to 3 in cinemas and see how that does.
I mean they've torn up the rule book in other places, why not with how they release?
lol how would that work? Like one per day for a month?

I just googled Endgame, and I really wonder what these dumbass outlets are going to say when it passes Avatar. Look at the Verge and their article about Marvel fans coming to terms about not beating Avatar. A lot of outlets are doing it, and you know they will put some spin on it when it does pass Avatar.
It says a lot about the kinds of people who are selected to write box office related articles when Mendelson is the cream of the crop.

Yeah the record is done, only a matter of time now. This will close naturally to under 10m in even a worst case scenario and there's no way Disney will let it die there.

I think it's safe to say if they really and I mean REALLY want to make this happen, Disney need to do better, a lot better. None of this "here's a short Hulk scene that was cut, a short Spider-Man clip and a Stan Lee tribute video", they need a lot more to entice people to go back and watch it. Maybe finish that scene with Tony's daughter and put that in, maybe throw in a teaser for Black Widow and Eternals, I don't know, SOMETHING! Most people were NOT happy with the extras here, Disney and Marvel need to do better if they really want that WW record.
Next month we'll know what's next for the MCU's Phase 4 and by the end of August, when Marvel and Disney will probably have their last shot at this, they need to have something solid in there, for Endgame.
With what it has right now it's looking like $850 million in North America and maybe another $7 million internationally for around $2.778 billion worldwide, so just $10 million shy of the record. Like most said, it would be silly to stop there, but they need a plan, an actual plan for the last push in August or whenever it happens, otherwise this won't work.
If they are 10 short around Labor Day, they just need a strong theater count (true re-release) for that weekend DOM and a mini push OS that week and it'll get 10.

It has estimated $2,761,318,161. @john2000 is correct, I got the numbers wrong: it currently needs $26,646,926, and it’s likely that actuals will come even shorter than that. I think it’s completely feasible for the domestic market to add more $14-16m and another $10m from the overseas market. People don’t seem to realize that it’s way too close to miss it and it has too many things going for it to take the record. People are crazy if they think that Disney would let this fall less than $10m short, and I don’t see a scenario where Endgame doesn’t get to $2.780B at least. It’s getting there, and unlike @titanic2187 I’m banking this July.
I feel like 9 dom, 6 OS is more realistic but we shall see. This movie is anything but predictable.

It needs $24.6m, and that’s without the actuals. People keep freaking out once the estimate numbers get here on Sundays only to get confident again once the actuals come. I’m used to this at this point. People need to understand that it’s going to be so incredibly close that truly all what Avengers: Endgame needed was this push.
Not that I'm saying you're wrong but is there a source on the 24.6 without actuals? Would like to get a look but Mojo is all messed up.

What is more unlikely, Endgame wringing another 25-30 out or Marvel accepting defeat 10-15 short of the record?
-
I've checked some major middle eastern cities and see many are not re-releasing or getting this cut. Very few Endgame showings and at the original run time, and no promotion. I really believe that this is not "the" re-release. It seems more like a play at hardcore MCU fans alone.
-
I think a number like $35m dom is basically impossible especially with how little promotion they've done. I guess never underestimate Endgame but that really feels like a bridge too far. IMO 15-20 global this weekend would be amazing and even 10-15 keeps things on track.

Thanks, it's Israel of note that interests me though as I have not seen any middle eastern confirmation personally. I don't have any trouble believing it, it would just be nice to get the official word.

So far: Domestic, Brazil, Spain, Israel and Chile. I’m pretty sure that it will end up being worldwide, and I wouldn’t doubt Disney lobbying to get a re-release in China as well.
Source on the confirmed countries?

Realistically what are the chances of $2.2 billion+ WW for Avatar at this point?
