$4.6M now... and $4.8M in a few hours.🤣
I wouldn't be surprised the way the estimates went yesterday
-
If 4.6 sticks I think we are in for a bigger Wednesday than Monday, which is a good sign for it's legs. Of course it'll still be very close so it can go either way.

A 32.3% rise, that's better

So maybe
TUE - $4.3M / $525.4M
WED - $3.2M (-25%) / $528.6M
THU - $3.16M (-2%) / $531.76M
$30M+ weekend gets it past $560M and $38.5M+ 4-day will push it past $570M

Yep, it has the exact same rating description as A Man Called Ove funnily enough!

FRI - $8.2M (inc. $2M previews)
SAT - $7.4M (-9.8% with previews, +19.4% without previews)
SUN - $4.8-5.2M (-20 to 35%)
Weekend - $20.4-20.8M
They are definitely underestimating that Sunday if Saturday is that high. $4.4M SUN would be a 40.5% SUN drop, whereas I see more of a 30-35% drop happening

Beverly Hills Cop is a 4-day holiday weekend gross so its 3-day was lower. Aladdin (1992) did $7,687,184 in its 11th wide weekend.
Beverly Hills Cop's number is from the-numbers, so it could be off.
Aladdin I assumed had one weekend of limited release but it does seem to have gone wide in its third weekend with no showings in weekend 2, I'll get that changed

Another terrific hold for TGM, shook off the effects of BULLET TRAIN.
Biggest domestic 11th Friday:
1. Feb 27, 1988 TITANIC $4,739,243 3,035 $1561 $412,090,075
2. Feb 26, 2010 AVATAR $3,076,750 2,456 $1252 $695,981,544
3. Jan 31, 2013 FROZEN $2,244,958 2,754 $815 $352,947,287
4. Aug 5, 2022 TOP GUN: MAVERICK $1,900,000 2,760 $688 $657,380,244
To be fair to Maverick, that's Frozen's 10th wide Friday, it's 11th made $1,388,839 on February 7, 2014.

Deadline are saying $6.6M for the weekend for Top Gun: Maverick in its 11th weekend
Biggest 11th Wide Weekends
- Titanic - $19,633,056 - 27/02/1998
- Avatar - $13,655,274 - 26/02/2010
- Beverly Hills Cop - $7,770,241 - 15/02/1985
- Aladdin - $7,687,184 - 05/02/1993
- E.T. the Extra Terrestrial - $7,620,888 - 20/08/1982
- Home Alone - $7,195,573 - 25/01/1991
- Mrs. Doubtfire - $6,916,809 - 04/02/1994
- Frozen - $6,872,811 - 07/02/2014
- Top Gun: Maverick - $6,600,000 - 05/08/2022
Specify wide weekends because I always find it weird sites like the-numbers and BOM compare the 11th wide weekend of Top Gun: Maverick against the 7th or 8th wide weekend of awards films sometimes even less if they have been in limited release for well over a month.

Too much for BA...
I think it could possibly scrape £20M, but the one after that would be 11th November for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, then 16th December for Avatar: The Way of Water

Assuming 1.2m EA then the Thurs to T.Fri mult is bettet for BT than Nope... with 3pm previews this mult doesn't seem that bad imo.
I think $1.25M was the estimate, which would me $3.35M Thursday previews and $7.7M pure Friday (based on the guesstimate from earlier)

That’s not a good hold for Nope.
Still not out here, opens a week today.
Yep, I still hold the belief that all films should open day and date everywhere lol but that's only cause we sometimes get shafted on release dates over here.

Early Fri estimates, studio sources:
BT 12.3 (w previews)
Pets 3.5
Nope 2.3
Thor 2.0
Minions 2.0
Easter 1.8
Superpets is down 62.5% with previews, -50.9% without previews
Nope -60.6%
Thor 4 -47.8%
Minions 2 -40.8%
I guess Nope's drop is because of the loss of IMAX? It also lost like 800 cinemas this week I think.

Nice!
Next major release to get that high is probably going to be Black Adam on 21st October.

Yeh it’s annoying Bros has such a delay. Nope does too, so I’m hoping it’s not a new trend for Universal.
Kind of similar to Get out which came out 17/03/17 here but 24/02/17 in the US.
Another one that makes no sense to me is Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris which released on 15th July in the US, but comes out here on 30th September even though it seems like a very British film and despite being filmed in the UK, France and Hungary (France get it on 2nd November and Hungary on 6th October.

Wtf is going on! Higher than OD.
This is truly incredible for Top Gun, and today it should surely stay flat/slightly increase as tomorrow and Friday are both holidays.
Looking like the 5 day could stay nearly flat from the opening 5 days.
Tue 2.9 (~£21.3m total)
Wed 3
Thu 2.5
Fri 3
Sat 3.5
Sun 2.5
£14.5m 5 day (9% drop), and £35.8m total (~$45m)
It will be difficult to predict increases over the weekend, I have a feeling they will be quite muted due to the extended holiday.Crazy that this would make it #1 Tom Cruise in the UK by end of day on its second SAT, just 11 days in release!
I wonder how high it can go!

Even deadpool (15 rating) opened higher and hes not the most popular superhero out there like The Batman (granted it was a 5 day opening). Deadpool and Logan being among the higher grossing X-men movies just shows that age rating means nothing when your fanbase is well over 15 as it is.
Deadpool opened as you mention in the week giving it an advantage over The Batman, but taking away preview grosses for both movies The Batman takes 8th best superhero opening and Deadpool takes 18th.* Logan misses the top 20 with £6.95M without previews.
