    My hopes for DECU:

    1. No more CGI fests - the less CGI the better, look at Nolan's films

    2. Get grounded stories

Nolan didn't have god-like heroes or vilains !

Same with grounded stories, hard to have this when your enemy is Brainiac or Darkseid

WB are so reactionary with their DC Films. Man of Steel was a partial to the complaints about the lack of action in Superman Returns, BvS was a response to the complaints about the 3rd Act in Man of Steel, Suicide Squad was a response to the reactions to their own trailers, Justice League was a response to complaints about the tone in BvS.

It's all well and good to take in criticisms but the problem is WB always took the wrong criticisms in and by trying to constantly meddle just ended up making things worse. The fact that this might make less than The Amazing Spider-Man 2 worldwide which was the film that made Sony basically give up and ask Marvel for help......

    Exactly !

Now I'm wondering what WB will do next (fortunately Aquaman and Shazam are safe but we can say goodbye to Flash, Cyborg and Green Lantern)

where did u get your education, i bet u are one of the in WB executive, never learned

I am deeply disappointed with $95m opening even that is not my money and I am fans, I couldn't imagine anyone in WB/DC now would smile looking at that number

I hope Tsujihara is happy now with his stupid "no more than 2-hours movie"

    What a dumb decision

So, 211m through Friday, with only USA and China reported.

So, 40 million more in China (SAT+SUN). 75 million more from the USA (SAT+SUN). We're at 325 million. About 40 million more from overseas markets that opened last week (FRI-SAT-SUN). We're at 365 million. And about 60 million more from overseas markets that opened this weekend. 425 million after 12 days. Nice.

  5. France is the leading European country for cinema attendance in 2016, ahead of the UK and Germany ! (I'm not expected this)

    1) France : 213M tickets

    2) UK : 168,3M tickets

    3) Germany : 121,1M tickets

It didn't reach such figures since 2011's 217,2M tickets sold

2016 is the 3rd best year for the last 50 years

There are 2045 theaters in the country and 5843 screens

< 25 years old represented, in 2016, 1/3 of the moviegoers

Wonder Woman fell Only 17%  this past weekend? Or am I not seeing this graphic well?

Yes and forecast say it could stay flat with 380k admissions !

It is thanks to the festival/celebration of the cinema during SUN 25th to WED 28th where the ticket cost only 4€ (for comparison, a normal ticket is 11€+)

This is why Baywatch could reach 600k admissions, The Mummy drops only 24% and PotC5 will grow +13% to reach 3M total admissions

If it only makes $800 million worldwide on a $230 million budget without P & A costs, will Disney make another film or discontinue the franchise?

Depends on the merchendising sales I think.

To recall, in Feb 2011, the franchise reached $1.6B in sales (merchendising) so it translates to $160M-200M directly for Disney

In my opinion, there will be a last one with a lower budget (170-180M) and especially a lower salary for Depp
