And with the exchange rates of it's OW it would be at $58.1m

It's a miracle that IW still has a shot to pass The Avengers' total with this awful exchange rate. Never thought it would be possible.

And just to think that with The Avengers 2012 exchange rate (when U$1 = R$1,88) the movie would be at around U$105M already... :ohmygod:

  2. U$6.8M weekend. Will be very close to The Avengers' total at the end (almost U$64M). I still think it will pass it, my prediction is U$65.2M.

The good news is that we just took Mexico's spot on the international ranking. We're #4 now (including China)!

You might be right. Still we ll see if it follows the numbers I predicted it would. Wed should be 1.4m, we ll know in 1 hour or so :)

Yeah, you were right! 1.4M wednesday

EDIT: And Brazil had the best wednesday among the international markets, the second one on the list was UK with U$1.3M.

  4. The difference between Mexico and Brazil is getting smaller everyday, I think we're going to pass them and become the #4 biggest international market for the movie (after China, SK, UK) soon.

It's a shame that the exchange rate is so awful though, we could be fighting SK or UK for the #3 spot maybe. If we were in 2012 (when the exchange rate was U$1 = R$1,88) the IW total would be close to U$90M already.

Of course the exchange rate of SK/UK and Mexico could be way better too, especially before the Brexit for UK. So it's hard to say which spot we would be at, but for sure it would be a number way more impressive than now (which already is VERY impressive by itself!).

Can we say that IW is over 10M admissions already? :ohmyzod:

Looks like it has a shot to break the 15M mark too, although it will be hard... but not impossible I guess.

By the way, do you have a list with the top movies in admissions of all time?

That was what is was trying to tell you

But yeah when Rth aka God tells it, it's a lot more clear. I love that you @Rthanos give so much attention to the OS markets, because with your numbers and input it's a lot more fun to track!

Haha sorry I wasn't getting your point, I thought you were only counting thursday because of the holiday or something, I really mixed things up. Thank you for your help too.

Since 13-Mar-14 when OD changed from Friday to Thursday, all WE BO is Thu-Sun, prior to 13-Mar-14 WE BO is Fri-Sun comparing anything post these dates is comparing 3 days with 4 days for any weekends

I had no idea... So that IW's 2nd weekend is even more impressive, whoa! Thank you for clarifying for me!

I thought we should only count 3 days because that's how it is in Boxofficemojo, but now I took a look at IW's opening weekend there and it says 27-29 April when the movie opened on 26 April... They should fix it.

  8. 5 minutes ago, pepsa said:

No that 10.8m is only for Fri-Sun, so means only a drop of 23% without holiday help. The weekend, with thursday is 12.5m or a 33% drop.

Don't we only count thursday numbers as part of the weekend during the OW? At least that's how it happens in US.

  9.

So it seems that IW is doing U$10.8M for the weekend, that's massive! -43,5% drop, but surprisingly Age of Ultron did the same U$10.8M during its 2nd weekend too, the movie only dropped -14,6%... Probably because of the 1st May holiday (the weekend was 1-3 May), while IW had the holiday on tuesday this year.

Brazil reached $28.7m this Tuesday. Huge but I thought it had a shot $30m..I guess this market reached its max capacity somehow..It must be close to R$95m.

If the movie was at U$23.7 on monday then it means IW grossed U$4.7M this tuesday (the total according to @BORReport on twitter is U$28.4M now). This holiday was HUGE for IW! Tuesday was bigger than monday.

Also Brazil jumped for the 4th place on the international market for the movie.

I don't know how blockbuster legs are in Mexico, but do you think Brazil can outgross Mexico until the end of the run?

  11. So if IW did U$19.1M during the opening weekend, does it mean the movie grossed U$4.6M on monday? Whoa! That's the same as the previous OD record of JL. Amazing...

And today is the holiday, so we're going to be close to U$30M after only 6 days!

Looks like U$60M is going down...

EDIT: I'm not sure if the movie did 19.1 or 18.8 during the weekend, I read about 19.1 somewhere else. But if 18.8 is the true figure, this monday number is even more impressive.. U$4.9M, out of this world.

Not a surprise. Considering it's selling like crazy ( there are screenings already full for tomorrow ), the number will probably increase.

I went to the restaurant and even the waiter was talking about Infinity War. That's absolutely crazy. ;)

Indeed, I want to watch IW on the Imax screen here in São Paulo and it literally was 100% sold out for saturday and  yesterday. It's VERY, very full today and tomorrow (because of the holiday) so all the seats left are the bad ones. I'll try to watch it next weekend then, I'm just waiting for the sales to start (probably on wednesday). I'll need to be very fast if I want to get a good seat though.

I've never seen anything like that. I didn't even know it was possible...

Reaching this with this horrible exchange rate would be jaw-dropping, I'd be speechless!

Let's wait till it passes 50$m already lol, it'd be enough to break the all-time record in local currency.

Well, the same legs as Age of Ultron (4x) would put IW at around U$75M.

It "only" needs 3.4x to reach The Avengers U$63M, even Thor: Ragnarok did 3.75x. Of course I know the bigger the OW the hardest it is to have good legs, but it's not VERY unlikely to happen, just unlikely for now... IMO

EDIT: JL reached over 4x too.

Time for an update dear fellow members :) Many films added since then, that's how dynamic this market is : in a few months the all-time top can be upset.

Next movie to join this list : Spider-Man Homecoming. Justice League will do it as well, maybe on top. Thor 3 can do it but it's not 100% certain.

DC is really big in Brazil, isn't it? Do you think JL can beat Avengers 2? Do you think The Last Jedi will go over or under The Force Awakens? Great list btw!
