I don't understand any of the disappointment. $182m is a great opening and I think it will probably beat Ultron's domestic total too. Marvel has done a really good job of keeping their audience engaged.
So that bolded part? It's the reason the Marvel brand is a brand. WB-DC and Fox could learn a lot from Marvel on that front.

Let's not forget guys, this weekend would have been a bloodbath on the forums had CW and BvS both opened on Friday
I would have sooooooo steered clear of BOT if BvS had kept the May 6 date.

I'd like to take this moment to let all my fellow BOTers know that I thought CA:CW would have a 180m OW. Thank you very much. Where are my cupcakes?

Considering how family friendly and big Marvel movies are on Sat and Sun, 25m previews would itself translate to 180m+. 25-30m would be 180-200m probably.
Except CACW isn't a family film. It's a fantastic movie, but it ain't for family viewing.

Serious question:
Who the hell are Key and Peele and why would I want to see a movie based on their names?
Because kitten.

Not really. The average person has no clue who either Key or Peele are.
But...kitten. Actually, if Keanu was PG13 I would have seen it twice already. I love kitty-cats.

It looks sort of crappy, but, Lee Byung-hun in a cowboy getup. So, yeah, I'm there opening weekend.

Yeah, I've officially joined the "BvS is a tremendous disappointment" camp at this point. I thought it would stabilize eventually but obviously it won't. It's going to miss $330M at this point. No doubt the WB executives are just freaking out right now, which seems par the course for them.
And to think that tracking the week-to-week box office for BvS and CA:CW at the same time was once a real possibility.

To be fair, WB never publicly stated "We want 1B". It's just an assumption by us and some of the media.
If there was ever a movie that could have made an easy 1b, it's BvS. Oh, what could have been.

I predict SUICIDE SQUAD to be a complete utter failure for the simple fact that no one outside of the DC fans know who these characters are, sans, the JOKER.. I think this will have limited appeal and with the title SUICIDE SQUAD, doesn't exactly scream general audience flocking to this..
You can thank GOTG for SS's existence. And like it, SS will do rather well.

My dream scenario:
JL production delayed 2 months with Paul Dini producing and Brad Bird directing.
Reading this post is like eating a bowl of pralines and cream ice cream with shortbread cookies. So very yummy.

From The Wrap:
Warner Bros. executives won’t be fretting too much. Their PG-13 rated blockbuster has already amassed $588 million globally, topping the entire runs of “Ant-Man,” “Thor” and “Captain America,” and delivered on the most of goals the studio had in mind for the kickoff film in DC Comics Universe.Gee whiz, talk about denial. It's BATMAN and SUPERMAN! And WB thinks it's great that a movie featuring both of those characters has outperformed films with superheroes hardly anyone in the GA had heard of at the time of release! Grrrrr....
In other news, bring on JL.

The movie will increase on Saturday, however I am seeing very weak to poor matinee business at my local theater (which would indicate family audiences not showing up) .
Should increase to 21-22 million today I think....
I saw BvS at a matinee and was one of 14 people in a theater designed to hold almost 600.

I just wanna say that I am officially leaving the Mods team. I wanted to tell you all at the same time. I will also send a PM to Tele explaining what led me to this. I am probably taking a break from the forums as well. I feel tired, stressed and this place has turned into death. I just don't have it in me anymore to stay. I don't look at this as a goodbye, more like a see you soon. I like almost everyone and I will miss them, but my time has come.
There are many gifs that I want to use as a goodbye so I will just put them all here or else it will kill this page. I am not good with speeches, so I will just use images to describe how I feel.
I saw this coming a mile away. I only wish that it wasn't a joke.
JK, CJOHN!!

Pegg seemed pretty disappointed with the trailer, like super bummed out.
I'm actually happy about this. It goes to show that what he intended for the film and what the trailer depicts are not necessarily the same. The trailer is awful, hopefully the movie is good.

Watched the trailer. Most times I'm down for hearing the Beastie Boys, buuuut didn't quite work here
And that's the main problem, it doesn't work with a Star Trek trailer. How the song was used in ST09 was fantastic. Don't know why they're trying to capture that vibe in this case.
