I don't reasonably see how it gets higher than 50m. It's been slightly trailing GOTG throughout its run, and will likely keep doing so (with the exception of Tuesday, which is explainable). It'd need to start having much better drops than GOTG going forward to have a shot at that high of a weekend.
WE Will see

I'm thinking
Thu: 8.4m (-13%)
Fri: 13.4m (+60%)
Sat: 17.4m (+30%)
Sun: 12.2m (-30%)
Wknd: 42m (-68%)
The daily number itself isn't terrible, but it does indicate that a 65%+ drop is looking more likely than not.
Only $42 mil? For me $50/55

Yeah gotta love it. This is Suicide Squad, this is not a Batman movie or whatever, it's a pretty fantastic result all around. And yeah, I know the Joker's in it and Bats has a cameo, the GA knows nothing about the other characters (yes, even Harley Quinn).
LOOL RECORD OF TWITTER AHAHAH

Loool. How is that meh for the UK? It's around expectations, or even a bit over. It's only because of extremely low ERs that it looks low.
Meh meh in The UK

I don't think we will see F2 in next few years. Disney knows well that the wave of first movie isn't coming to an end and tries to milk the cow in every possible way (theme parks, Broadway, cruises, app & videogames). Other, more important, the big licensing partners, mainly Hasbro and Lego, are putting the mouse house under pressure for new partnership, as the sales of Star Wars related items aren't so great as expected overseas and, by now, Frozen is always at the top of the whishlist . So the creative team behind F2 is now involved in other "co-financed" projects and the developement of the cinematic sequel is delayed. The most important of those is "Frozen Northern Lights", a brand new story in partnership with Lego that will be released in late 2016: there will be a tv serie, books and obviously toys. (I remember you that in 2015 the top seller among Lego items was the "Elsa ice Castle" building set). Wel'll see.
Frozen coming out 2019!

Great start for Pets, good for Mike and Dave. 85-100M seems to be the range for Pets for the weekend.
Incredible for mediocre film!

WOW! Probably another billion for Disney

Purge 3 is on pace for a possibly $40 million+ 4-day, so that should help.
July 2016 might get on a roll: Purge 3 $80 million+, Pets $270 million+, Ghostbusters $130 million+, Star Trek 3 $160 million+, Ice Age 5 $110 million+, Bourne 5 $200 million+, Bad Moms $70 million+
June was so barren that I could see July and the first half of August doing better than expected.
I m expecting more from Suicide Squad!
