    I liked the OT a lot, the prequels are okay IMO, I loved TFA and liked RO.

     

    I liked the TLJ, It's okay. But the movie has many flaws (I talked more about it in the spoilers thread).

     

    I really understand why some people are not liking it.

    If Time Warner,  world's third largest entertainment company, was the one buying Fox, o lot of people would be laughing and enjoying it here.

     

    By the way, AT&T, largest pay-TV company in the world, is trying to buy Time Warner,  world's third largest entertainment company, And I've never seen much of a complaint about it here.

     

    Oh! Almost forget, AT&T and Comcast,  the largest broadcasting and cable television company in the world, are really trying to repeal the net neutrality rules. Good guys.

     

    But you know, Disney is THE EVIL EMPIRE.

     

    PS: I'm not saying this deal is a good thing (personally I'm thinking it's not). But if Fox wanted to sell the studios, well, I'm okay with Disney buying them, they're better than Comcast.     All good, well written villains, with good actors playing them.

     

    I liked Zemo too. Very subtle, with very good acting, cool background and some really surprising things.

     

    They're better than all the comic book villains in other movies recently. 

     

    And I think Black Panther and Infinity War will have pretty good villains too.

    Is it good for the MCU and Marvel Characters? yeah, probably. But it's just a small part in a big deal like that. 

     

    Maybe Disney could make a really great streaming service, even better than Netflix. Who knows. I think streaming is the future of content creation.

     

    But OVERALL I think it's bad to the movie business as a whole now.

    I think Drew Goddard is the one to blame here.

     

    He was writing a Sinister Six movie and BOOM! Spider-Man is coming to the MCU! Sinister Six Cancelled.

     

    He is writing a X-Focer movie and BOOM! X-Men are coming to the MCU! X-Force (maybe) Cancelled.

    It’s a shame Fox is done with the X-Men franchise, they were doing something different with the superhero genre. On one hand this’ll prevent superhero fatigue but it also means less creativity.

    Alien - Dead franchise. I did not expect to see a new movie in the next decade, either with Fox or any other Studio. BTW, Fox was the studio that did most shit in this franchise. Practically destroying it.

     

    Apes - Just finished a new trilogy in 2017, the third movie doing 30% less money than the second (DOM and OS) and 17% less money (DOM) than the first movie, a movie with a way smaller budget from 6 years ago, unadjusted. Even with great reviews. It's a disappointment, so I no longer expected to see a new trilogy any time soon. Clearly it's a franchise that has tired the general audiences.

     

    Predator - Another dead franchise. Yeah, I know there's a reboot hapenning, but all the last movies were bad and failures. Again, Fox was the studio that did most shit in this franchise. Practically destroying it.

     

    Kingsman: Even now there is no movement to make a trilogy. But so far the movies have made some profit. It may be possible, but it depends on many circumstances.

     

    It’s a shame what Fox has done with the X-Men franchise (5 good movies, but also 5 bad movies, some really bad, And even in the good movies, just Wolverine in the front, extremely poorly represented female characters, horrible chronology, Magneto almost as the only villaiin), the Fantastic Four (three really bad movies), Daredevil and Elektra.

     

    Gambit? Multiple Men? Pff..

     

    The real problems here are the  number of feature films that will be made, Fox Searchlight and the amount of power with just one studio. 

     

    Superhero Genre will be fine.

    GOTG  - New galaxy, Space Opera, sci-fi fantasy. 

    Ant-Man - Quantum Realm, Heist Movie, mentor/pupil and fathers/daughters story.

    Doctor Srange - Multiverse, Sorcerers, new magic concepts.

    Black Panther - One of a kind character [african warrior, king and hero], one of a kind background [advanced african civilization, afrofuturism]. 

     

     A Black Widow isn't a really iconic different character, her movie movie would be just a spy movie, something like 'Captain America - The Winter Soldier', well, that's why she's basically the co-protagonist of that movie.

     

    Her movie would not cause some real impact, would be just another Salt, Colombiana, Atomic Blonde.

     

    That's why they didn't make her movie before and I fail to understand how you guys don't see it.

Just a female counterpart to Captain Marvel, I'm glad they didn't do that. Turning Carol Danvers into THE Captain Marvel was what made her iconic, important and a symbol for women and for feminism. It was what brought new concepts to the character, making her really interesting. I'm a comic book reader since childhood and compare the importance that Carol Danvers as Ms Marvel with her as Captain Marvel is ridiculous.

     

    4 - Well, yeah, Black Panther deserves all the praise. But Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Peggy Carter, Hope van Dyne, Gamora, Nebula, Ayesha, Mantis, Valkyrie, Hela, The Ancient One, Christine Palmer, Sharon Carter, Michelle Jones, May Parker, Pepper Potts, Maria Hill, etc. are treated in very respectul ways (and I'm sure Okoye, Nakia, Ayo, Ramonda and Shuri will be too, soon).

     

    AH! Jesssica Jones, Elektra, karen Page, Claire Temple, Daisy/Quake, Melinda May, Jemma Simmons, Colleen Wing, Misty Knight, etc. TV side.

    And 'Ant-Man and The Wasp',  the first female Marvel superhero to have equal billing with her male counterpart in an MCU film.

     

    And, after those, 'Captain Marvel', "the most powerful MCU character", just 7 years after starting to become an iconic female character in the comic books.
