JL finally crossed Avengers OW in 23 days, unadjusted that is.

Marvel Studios had 3 movies do more than 300m dom and above 800m worldwide. The only other studio that has managed that apart from Disney was Universal in 2015. No other studio has managed that if I am not wrong. They have overtaken Paramount and Sony with just 3 movies

What a great year for Marvel Studios.

in what way?  anyone straying from what's considered the popular consensus allows other people to consider what they found to be bad in a film that you thought was good, or vice versa.  if everyone was in perfect harmony regarding the quality of a film, then film discussion would be pointless.

First, there is nothing intelligent in ALWAYS standing against the popular opinion. Without a well-founded thinking of why you position yourself this way in a particular case, it just seems like a childish tantrum. It's just boring and annoying.

Second, there are about five, six people here who are practically always against the popular opinion. And I tell you, the arguments that these people use would not make anyone 'consider what they found to be bad in a film that you thought was good, or vice versa''. It's just the same bad comments ''It's boring'', ''trash, garbage'', ''mediocre'', ''soulless'', ''CGI fest'', etc. OR ''movie X is way better than movie Y''.

Third, if the person who is '' straying from what's Considered the popular consensus Allows other people to consider What They found to be bad in the film That You thought was good, or vice versa, '' why can't this person also change an opinion following what the ''popular consensus'' is saying? I've never seen this happening. Do they think they have a ''better'' opinion? Are they too closed-minded? I think I know the answer.

Not within the first 24 hours though, which is my point about most of the fans rushing to see the trailer. Most of the views for Jurassic World came much later.

Views within the first 24 hours:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Trailer (Official)  112 million views

Avengers: Age of Ultron – Trailer #3  35 million views

Avengers: Age of Ultron – Trailer #2  34.3 million views

Jurassic World – Official Trailer  13.3 million views

    ehhh...Your data looks strange...

The Most Viewed Trailers of 2014

    DECEMBER 16, 2014

''Jurassic World, which had a hot start with 53.9 million views in its first week, finished fourth with 64 million cumulative views since debuting on Nov. 25.''

wishful thinking has me saying New Mutants

    The King, Black Panther

New Mutans looks as much as a X-men comic book movie as Stranger things, Carrie or The Shining. You could rename those BTW, something like Stranger Mutants, Carrie: the Mutant and The Shining Mutant, and TA DA!

You have three brand new X-men movies. You're welcome. :sparta:

Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad both made $80m from Blu day and dvd sales in the US alone. No streaming, international sales, tv, international tv, international streaming etc. Justice League will eventually make profit on home video.

Plus we don’t know the official budget, tax credits, product placement blah blah.

It’ll make money. Just not as much as it could/should have.

    Hi mate,

I think you're the biggest WB apologist around here. Congrats :jeb!:

    I apologize.

But Geostorm came to mind as a film that a lot of people don’t like that I really liked so I had to include it on there sorry!

    Geostorm???

You're completely insane! WTF! Shittiest movie, even more than Valerian (way more, actually).

And Thor; Ragnarok is a really good movie.

  9. GET OUT is THE box office success story of the year.

    REASONS

    1 - Original IP

    2 - R-rated Horror Movie (with some satire/comedy)

    3 - Budget:  $4.5 million

    4 - Domestic BO: $175,5 (37 times its budget)

5 - Dropped just 15% in its second weekend

6 - The first eight weekends with lower drops than 36.1%

    7 - First black writer-director with a $100-million film debut

    8 - Highest-grossing original debut ever

I watch pretty much every major movie, whether it interests me greatly or not.  It's part of being a part of the conversation, for me.  I love film, so I go out of my way to see as many films as I can.

I didn't like the Underworld series and I still watched the 5th movie this year, but you don't see people yelling at me for not just ignoring that film.

So, the problem is you, my friend.

"I use pretty much every drug, whether it interests me greatly or not.  It's part of being a part of the conversation, for me.  I love drugs, so I go out of my way to use as many drugs as I can. BUT I DON'T WANT WEED IN THIS WORLD ANYMORE"

(I know, it's not such a good metaphor.)
