I can safely say that I would have been more receptive to the news that Henry Cavill is done playing Superman, if we hadn’t had a big deal made over his return just two months ago.

That wasn't really Gunn's fault, really, it's Seven Bucks Production for brining Cavill back and not negotiating a new contract for him at the same time

  2. There's one thing I've noticed about the Snyderverse dudes, a lot of their tweets have this idiotic grandiose verbiage as if they're in the Lord of the Rings, but they're trying to emulate the dialogue in the Snyderverse, which is largely spoke by normal humans. Which goes to show that the dialogue in those movies is really really stupid.

I seriously hope the people he's replying to are like 15 or something. God help us he he's talking to dudes who are 30+ and he has to gently explain, as you would to a toddler, that the actor for the capeshit movie doesn't fit the script he's  writing so the capeshit character will now be played by his 8th different actor.

Atomic Monster previously had a deal at Warners, where Wan is in post-production on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and where his Conjuring movies and spinoffs generated more than $2 billion in box office revenue alone. That deal expired over the summer and observers were watching where the filmmaker would land next. Combining his shop with Blumhouse, in which he will have a substantial stake, if a deal closes, was not what most were expecting.

Wan's WB deal expired this Summer and he's potentially merging Atomic Monster with Blumhouse, who current has a first look deal with Universal.

So with Hamada gone and Wan possibly gone, who's going to produce their horror stuff? Also, what happens to the Conjuring franchise?

Blumhouse's Universal deal also soon, so if they do merge, I could see them signing with Paramount since Hamada is there and he produced so much of Wan's movies.

Let's be real -- Cavill was only doing "The Witcher" because Superman wasn't working out over at Warners.

And yep, money isn't everything to certain people.  Even if Cavill's only signed with development deals over at Warner Bros. right now, it's clear Zaslav (and probably now Gunn/Safran) wanted to prioritize his return to that role.  They're probably giving him an "Executive Producer" credit for any new Superman feature.

...Unless Chad Stahelski's "Highlander" with Cavill is also set to go next year... A fact I would both love and hate equally.

     :sparta:

He was also a fan of the source material and the writers of the show hated the source material.
