RT audience scores are easily manipulated, wait for the cinemascore to gauge a more accurate reaction from the audience.

I think this will land in Minions territory and do 350+ DOM, cross a billion and be another feather in the cap for Illumination. This isn't a Detective Pikachu situation, the Mario movie looks to be a much more marketable animated film with a straightforward adventure premise set in a world familiar to anyone with a the faintest knowledge of Mario. It's gonna be a huge crowd pleaser just like Illumination's other films.

Let's just say, the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change.

Season of the Witch is the best Halloween movie, it's time to turn it into an anthology series like Carpenter always intended!

only for that one game. shadow is still the most popular character in the franchise second only to sonic himself and for good reason.

The video clip makes the tweet seem like an over-exageration.
Maybe but it's also just a clip of a much longer interview.

Scoob will do better on VOD than it ever would in theaters if this trend continues from Trolls.

Haven't seen it for myself yet but I'm interested.
Who would've thought this would end up being so successful in it's OW when it's initial trailer was absolutely despised.

At this point, I just hope the movie is good.
Pretty much.

Well this is going to be a whole lot of "they hate men feminist propaganda blah blah" followed by "men don't go to female led movies etc.."
and it'll all be toxic. Not here, just assuming how Twitter will go.
Even if this does well in the end, that toxic stuff on twitter will not go away. Those people will move on to another piece of media to have an outrage over.

Given that J. J. Abrams is now involved as a producer, would it be wise to think Dan Trachtenberg (did 10 Cloverfield Lane for Bad Robot) could be looked at to helm this one?
Well he exited the Uncharted movie last year so his schedule is probably open.

The only good thing I see is James Wan producing.
Everyone else are either unknowns, c-list actors from TV, and then there’s Lewis Tan.
True, there's not a lot riding for this movie outside of the property itself.

Same date as Dr Dolittle.
The date of champions.
This could go the way of Dolittle or Bad Boys for Life

I wonder if DC is gonna start promoting this character in comics and cartoons more than he has been. Black Adam was never a huge character which is surprising given how Dwayne Johnson is so dedicated to this role after all these years.
-
Oh how I wish this movie didn't have a "cartoon character comes to our world" plot, they never turn out well.

No Johnny Cage or Kitana?
They're gonna be in the post-credits stinger I bet.

I was expecting the reviews to be much worse given the impressions of social media, horror movies tend to get ravaged by critics so IT having decent scores is impressive.

I think this is the first time Mortal Kombat's Raiden will be portrayed as Japanese. Nice.

So weird. It's not a remake, it's another adaptation.
Yeah, their claim of the 2017 movie being a remake is very flimsy when they're both adaptions of the same novel.

I agree with moving this up to December 2020, this could really break out like Aquaman did.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie | Universal/Illumination | April 5, 2023 | Chris Pratt is Mario, Charlie Day is Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy is Peach | Reviews are in. It's-a bad!

Sonic is closer to Alvin and the Chipmunks in format and ended up making in that range for both movies. Illumination is in a whole different ballpark.
