I just wanna say this May and June are way gonna be way crowded than July. May and June are full of potential Billion dollar movies. July looks like a waste land compared. Unless barbie breaks out big

I mean it's more like Coolio said where it's probably just people being nerdy and hyping up the thing they are looking forward to. Which I mean...hey! I'm nerdy. I like to hype up things I like. I empathize with those sentiments.
Eh no. Tears of the Kingdom is absolutely going to be massive and is definitely one of the biggest media events of the year. I wont say the biggest like the user that brought it up though and I still doubt it is going to have an impact on the box office, it's still no Grand Theft Auto V or The Long night from Game of Thrones and if those didn't have an impact, this certainly wont.

Did GTA V hurt the box office when it released? Because if it didnt then Zelda certainly won't make a dent.

Is it just me or is there very little buzz for Fast X? Do we think it's gonna cut into GOTG3's legs?
Probably not domestically but I have a hard time believing it won't have an impact overseas.

Wonder how he'll react when it doesn't
For his sake let's hope it does because people are ready to pounce if the 60m+ weekend does not pan out..

Reddit turned on Empire and Jatinder like crazy this week, so I'm not surprised he turned all his attention to them with this lol.

Numbers updated overseas numbers to 655m. That would imply another 18m added on Monday and Tuesday. Still extremely high. I think we are in for another great hold. 800m looks all but certain.

I thought I was taking crazy pills reading the first page lol. I mean maybe I am but I think this film is going to just perform middle of the line and not allow the detractors or stans to get carried away one way or another.

I feel people are being a little too eager here to proclaim the legs are going to be amazing

Is TheNumbers off or did Mario increase 5m in actuals?

Is this the first week where schools start to be off?

Mario and Spiderverse doing so well will really drive home how badly Pixar damaged its brand with their D+ strategy.

That is way more reasonable than 32% drop and he probably have some data to say that
Maybe so but sub 20% drop seems extremely optimistic. I guess we shall see.

I think $850M is possible if Fast X outright flops.
It's going to flop in the states, but I doubt it will flop overseas.

Empire thinks it is only dropping 15% on Sunday

I've never seen so much spinning from Deadline before. It's weird.

I think 1.4b is looking very good right now

1.4b is looking good for Mario.

This thread is eerily slow.

So probably 115m OW.

what are you talking about? The Mario movie is head and shoulders better than I2
Agreed. Incredibles 2 is one of the most forgettable films which is odd because I rember I liked it when I watched it, I just remember literally nothing about it now. It left no inpression.

I don't see Dune increasing by 85%+
Maybe $550M-600M
It had a day and date release. I think it's in for a big increase for sure.

Just disastrous holdovers tbh. This seems to be a stronger trend this year than usual with each major release. When Mario opened everything had an awful weekend despite the holiday boost.i don't remember holdovers dropping this much with each new blockbuster in the past.
