I called it lol, and someone quoted me with there was no way WB was going to dump this.
5 hours ago, AniNate said:That "Lunar New Year" rationale is laughably weak. I dunno, maybe it is in fact good but these are pretty dubious optics.
But those are just the author's guesses, I don't know why people are acting like WB put out a press release, the IMAX excuse is also laughable when there is nothing stated for December. The only fact we have is that it has been dumped in january.

The movie is obviously a write off with the release date like this. Don't ever trust test-screening reports, there's a good chance they weren't great actually.
The thing is that there is no reliable source that has said the test screenings were great, so?. People are just in denial.
Someone who saw a cut on the WB lot about 6 months ago just said that the movie is not good, they only liked the performances.

I had no faith in this, and now seeing how the apes look worse, less so. If the movie turns out to be generic as it appears in the trailer, it won't have much critical support, I guess.

Anyway, 2.6 on LB.
Getting closer to Rebel Moon.

Regarding Cavill's filmography. Post-BvS:
Sand Castle (2017) - netflix, flop and panned
MI: Fallout (2018) - his participation was one of the weakest links
Night Hunter (2018) - a bomb
Enola Holmes (2020) - netflix
Enola Holmes 2 (2022) - netflix
Argyle - his return to the big screen after long years, already 3.1 on LB
Yeah, his filmograhy just sucks. Good thing his buddy Ritchie will have him on the big screen once again.
Being beautiful is very important to Hollywood of course, but it's proven again that it's not enough if you want an extensive successful and acclaimed career. He's a more decent actor than someone like Megan Fox for example, I'll give him that.

Everything Everywhere All at Once was released on March, CODA premiered on January. Studios have seen that it's possible not to condense everything in October-December.
But I have nothing to say until there is a confirmed date.

No? Test screening all Been positive with each new one getting better scores
1 hour ago, Alex SciChannel said:Test screenings have not been terrible. I don't know where you're getting this from. They're actually very positive according to ViewerAnon save for one new monster that had poor reception and was replaced.
15 minutes ago, ThomasNicole said:The test screenings this is bullshit as well, ViewerAnon said they´re doing consistently better everytime they test it. The thing that was disliked in it early on was changed.
Lool the week of March 29 is going to be fun.

I don't understand this move.
I know test-screenings have been terrible, but this is the kind of movie that survives that.

Here Aquaman still has all the showtimes available as if it were its first 4 days in theaters, and people acting shocked that it hasn't bombed massively. Even people who have still been on vacation and go to the movies it's not like they have much of a choice, I doubt this is only in my country.

Florence it's your turn now.

He's leaving WB after how they treated Malignant (had potential for a Barbarian level WOM wtf movie) and Aquaman 2 has been a disaster the entire shoot.
Yeahh it's WB's fault that his movie sucks when they gave him all the freedom possible to make whatever he wanted. Sure.
Similar case with Patty. They both just proved why you can't do that with every director when it comes to these movies just because they've had a hit. Not everyone is Nolan, studios intervention is very good especially when the director is delusional and lacks of self-awareness to realize their shitty script.

Horrible poster, but fitting for that bad trailer lol

They just wasted a huge opportunity to promote this by taking advantage of that english cast and the narrative about it being his supposedly final movie or his comeback after 10 years. Meh
I doubt the actors would have said no to a red carpet or interviews with Hiyazaki.- 1

Who the hell is claiming John David Washington isn’t a good actor. I’ve literally never heard someone criticize him. Maybe people are comparing him to his father which isn’t fair at all considering Denzel is one of the best ever.Well, maybe go outside this forum for a moment. Because that's always the general narrative about him in every forum about movies or social media Lol

Nepotism is such a sad thing, this kid has neither charism or acting skills to play a complex character like Wonka, and yet, he got the job without even doing a test.
Indeed.

I dont like the trailer. We'll see

Would be pretty stupid if they did. Could be a breakout with Pattinson starring and Bong-Joon Ho (who might not be a household name but still a lotta people who will watch his films after Parasite) directing.
I don't know what to think, it's the only film absent from wb spring schedule.

Are they dumping Mickey 17 or.. ?
-
So they're going to make zero promo ?

The delusion of thinking that Anthony can take the lead as Captain America is too much, who must have told Feige that there is at least someone in the public who would love this.
And now they can't do anything about it LolI thought Florence Pugh was going to take the role that Scarlett had but it turns out they put her on that irrelevant team. I hope Florence drops before the inevitable flop, she deserves it better.

Not Deadline calling this a cosmic masterpiece LOL. IGN giving a 8/10
Certain US critics are something else.
The score could potentially go up, me thinks.

The social media reactions are meh at best. Im guessing an average critic score of 5/10 on RT and and RT score of 52%
I don't think the movie is going to be straight up panned on RT... because the director maybe. And the Hollywood Reporter piece just caused that many accounts who write reviews to come to her defense.
What is a fact is that the test screening went horrible. Some people who can never shut up gave bad reactions, and someone who attended the screening told the entire plot on Reddit while panned it.
Except for the US, I think reception will be worse than Quantumania in the rest of the world.

I saw some logs on LB when this had a test screening on Feb 28th and I didn't see anything bad. The consensus seemed to be that it's good/great but not better than Fury Road.
