"possible main account" lol Jesus Christ.
Also, Sneider was a trade reporter and he's broken a ton of big stories in the past. And Sneider never said the deal was already done, he said that the basic frame works were already agreed upon and they're gonna spend the next couple days hashing out the details, hence a deal is "imminent".
If it only took them 2 days more to actually sign the contract, then I'm sorry but I do believe that they already had a deal in principle by then even if it was not legally written and signed lol
The biggest hang-up was always the residual thing. Everything else seemed fairly easy to resolve tbh
He was right the last time too, for what it's worth.
I think they'll consider it but idk man, I really don't think they'll have the savings to do a strike even half as prolonged as the one that SAG and the WGA did.
In Hollywood?
Also idk I'm not getting the sense that there's a large extremist contingent of SAG lol Even that letter last night was extremely, extremely vague and not exactly screaming "GIVE US THAT REVENUE SHARING FROM THE STUDIOS!!!".
They weren't explicitly asking for anything in particular, and it does lead me to believe that they'd probably take what Duncan and Fran end up considering a "fair deal" unless it's a god-awful one which at this point I really, really doubt it'd be. The strike has had enough of an effect I do expect that if a deal gets made it'd be one where the studios conceded enough to declare it a victory.
I get the scenario you're proposing but it's so unlikely it's not even worth the stress of entertaining it.
I mean if you're complaining about removing shows to avoid paying residuals, this doesn't exactly solve that issue. The studios will still be able to remove shows as they please.
The CEOs are gonna be the least affected. They're still gonna be living in their mansion in the end. If this drags on to January the true people that'll be screwed are the working people. All Iger, Sarandos, Zaslav, etc might need is a expensive trip to the bahamas to lick their wounds.
Killers of the Flower Moon is a theatrical flop. Maybe it's strategic on Apple's part as a loss leader to get a reputation amongst creatives in the film industry, but "loss leader" still means "loss".
