  1. If it only took them 2 days more to actually sign the contract, then I'm sorry but I do believe that they already had a deal in principle by then even if it was not legally written and signed lol
  2. The biggest hang-up was always the residual thing. Everything else seemed fairly easy to resolve tbh He was right the last time too, for what it's worth.
  3. To be fair all those false alarms started like 2 or 3 days before the deal happened so either way it's good news to be getting alarms now.
  4. I think they'll consider it but idk man, I really don't think they'll have the savings to do a strike even half as prolonged as the one that SAG and the WGA did.
  5. Eh. With what I've heard of how much they've been hurting financially I think that hurt is not exactly gonna be fixed by August.
  6. In a way, it does, but in another way it truly doesn't. You think IATSE will be in any position to strike next year?
  7. In Hollywood? Also idk I'm not getting the sense that there's a large extremist contingent of SAG lol Even that letter last night was extremely, extremely vague and not exactly screaming "GIVE US THAT REVENUE SHARING FROM THE STUDIOS!!!". They weren't explicitly asking for anything in particular, and it does lead me to believe that they'd probably take what Duncan and Fran end up considering a "fair deal" unless it's a god-awful one which at this point I really, really doubt it'd be. The strike has had enough of an effect I do expect that if a deal gets made it'd be one where the studios conceded enough to declare it a victory. I get the scenario you're proposing but it's so unlikely it's not even worth the stress of entertaining it.
  8. I mean if you're complaining about removing shows to avoid paying residuals, this doesn't exactly solve that issue. The studios will still be able to remove shows as they please.
  9. The CEOs are gonna be the least affected. They're still gonna be living in their mansion in the end. If this drags on to January the true people that'll be screwed are the working people. All Iger, Sarandos, Zaslav, etc might need is a expensive trip to the bahamas to lick their wounds.
  10. The revenue sharing thing is something they should 100% give up on. Everything else keep fighting it since I think they can eventually get.
  11. Killers of the Flower Moon is a theatrical flop. Maybe it's strategic on Apple's part as a loss leader to get a reputation amongst creatives in the film industry, but "loss leader" still means "loss".
  12. I think both of them combined makes them look mega embarrassing and loses a lot of their credibility.
  13. And why they need creative solutions like the one Clooney proposed and SAG seemingly spat upon.
  14. IATSE won't be asking for a revenue cut of streaming services so they don't have to worry about that.
  15. SAG leadership is screwed now lol Their supposed unity is now broken. They could've used this proposal to their advantage but instead it seems they scoffed at it. Now the studios smell blood in the water and they'll pounce on it.
  16. It lines up with what SAG themselves has said, even if SAG disputes it as "it was 57 cents actually" which is still a stupid ask. I'd agree if this point in particular hadn't been basically confirmed by Fran and Duncan.
