Now that I’ve had some time to think it over, I think we overreacted to the SK drop. With the Mexico news coming out I still think this will be big. my prediction right now is between 1.1 and 1.2 billion, probably closer to 1.1.
this is by no means a flop or bomb. Watching the box office subreddit freak out about this is pretty funny though.

As long as you aren’t rooting for other movies to fail I don’t see the issue with rooting for a movie or franchise

This is such a roller coaster, I feel like we have been overreacting to every bit of news when we should just wait.

So so far it comes under FK in South Korea, but has a better start than FK in Mexico.
Idk maybe it’ll all even out in the end. I’m just glad there’s some hope

Alright guys, what do you think the odds of this crossing a billion are?

Universal was releasing its small time movies in Russia.
What's stopping them from releasing this and get that extra 30-40 million.
I’ll let you figure that one out

I’d be satisfied with a billion in all honesty

So, what are we expecting this to finish with domestic and WW?

That wasn’t fun
ok, so hopefully the weekend will be better, but I’m not holding my breath

Anyways, after seeing this in revising my predictions down from 1.4-1.5 billion to 1.1-1.2 billion. Still a really good gross and the 2nd best of the pandemic era, but it’s undershooting my expectations

The sales picking up should help the projection that updates tomorrow?

Jurassic world dominion picking up steam
you love to see it

My local theatre is clearly expecting a lot of business for this. They posted their showtimes a whole week early. They usually post weekend showtimes the Wednesday of that week (for example, TGM was posted on the 25th) but they posted the showtimes today for JWD.

those are reactions from premiere, but most were hired by studio's marketing partners.
Fantastic Beasts 3 was also widely praised after premiere.
Thanks for the info

I want this movie to be good is that too much to ask for
Im getting nervous now ... and i even told myself over and over again to ignore reviews basically but its harder then i thought.
You may laugh but this is the movie event of the decade for me. Marvel fans get a new movie every 4 months but we JP fans only one in 4 years.
The reviews have been fine so far. A long shot from the abysmal ones I was expecting.
also a movie being good or bad is subjective, so even if most people don’t like it (not the case at all from the early reactions) you can like it and find it good.

Is douban reliable? Because it seems Chinese audiences love this

Replying so I can subscribe to this topic.

I’ve been talking to people who have seen the movie, and without going into spoilers, I think you guys will be satisfied with Rexy’s outcome.

I have to agree with Thunderbird here, let’s watch the legs and see how it turns out.

Well its better than terrible reception at least.
That’s what I meant lmao.
also, idk how to interpret the CGV score. On one hand it’s tied with JW at the moment. On the other hand SK audiences liked JWFK the most of the trilogy so I’m not sure how it’ll line up to western audience opinions.
