This is my first ever post, but I have to say I find it funny some folks actually think TLJ is a flop.

^ and wow yeah that’s bad for pp3.
Jumangi is stealing a good chunk of TLJ’s
family audience...about $5m worth on xmas day as that’s the difference between the estimate and actuals for both.

Not that Dom is anywhere near as important as worldwide, but this whole thing has a certain pottery too it.
TFA fans were gunning for Avatar world wide, they didn't stop to think can we even beat Titanic.

IronJimbo wanted to be as annoying as BKB, he didn’t stop to think am I actually as annoying as Kal?

Hmmm this makes no sense, it should have cleared 30 million with ease on Monday and Tuesday,
If this does not recover, 700 million is off the table.
It’s already off the table unfortunately. I’d sign up for $650m at this point :/
That’s just such a disappointing #, and I only wanted $30m flat.

I feel like they really missed a golden opportunity to call this Traken.

You don't get that much inflation in 4 years. $250 million in 2007 isn't even $300 million today. TFA, adjusted for inflation, is only at about $258 million right now.lol thanks...was about to post how you don't get $50m in inflation in 4 years.

Jumanji is a lot of fun but it's an African-themed game and there are no jungles in Africa...no one did any research?
Anyway Jack Black and the redhead girl steal the movie while The Rock continues to be a worthless waste of space reminiscent of Will Smith.

I think competition is a lame excuse really.
Its Star Wars...
The only reason why the numbers are lower is frankly is the repeat business is suffering badly.
Like I am debating on seeing this again while with RO and TFA I had my tickets already booked.
This is def one of the main reasons it’s doing much less than TFA, lack of repeat business. Sooo many people/sw fans saw TFA 3+ times in theaters, but TLJ will be maybe 2 times. Plus it was the first SW movie in 10 years, TLJ is the third in two years. And yes, obviously it isn’t as universally loved as the TFA and that combined with the long runtime is really hurting repeat business.

I truly never thought a sub-$100M 4 day was in the cards. But if it happens...
lol Disney isn't putting out a $99m 4-day headline.

That $25.5m # for the TLJ is good
Spoilerenough :/

"But please, if you’re going to watch this, watch this at home. Netflix’s release plan remains unclear, but you couldn’t have a worse experience in a movie theater if you saw “Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom” in 4DX."

lol holy shit I can't imagine how bad this is.

Is there a reason the biggest Avatar fans tend to be incredibly dense?
Don’t worry, Jimbo will magically understand how sequel movies normally and understandably drop after huge part ones, in a few years when (if ever?) Papyrus 2 comes out.

Well, in reality most films sit between the 6-9 range, so the difference between a 8.1 and a 7.3 is actually pretty huge.
The online reaction to this film is mixed, there are quite a lot of people who hated it. Bots found on rotten tomatoes and 4chan trolls do not somehow discredit every real review, comment and rating.
Not sure, I would hope creating an account couldn't be so easily automated.
Ah yes, IronJimbo, the voice of reason, taking an overview and non-biased opinions.

Yeah guys, imbd, rt and metacritic is 100% bots and trolls. If we look at the top 1000 users on Imdb, the ones who have legit accounts and gave thousands of ratings to film, it shows just how trolled the 7.8 score is.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2527336/ratings?demo=top_1000_voters
oh... wait
I meant the RT audience score. I believe the IMDb score is legit, but was saying that say it drops 10% from TFA, that that isn’t that crazy.

Even if it drops to say 7.3, that’s only a 10% drop from TFA...and I’m not arguing it’s as loved/liked as TFA, it’s def not and it’s much more divisive, but to act like it’s getting as much hate as say TPM or AotC or TF5, etc. is complete hyperbole. The passion/vitriol by those who really dislike it though seems very high.

Not this again! And as far as the imdb, TFA is only an 8.1.

Really, really hoping SOLO moves to December. Not only are audiences loving Star Wars in general, but you get the feeling they're embracing it as a Christmas tradition. Everyone I know knows well ahead of time they'll be going to see Star Wars at Christmas time. It just seems agiven.
I also think they definitely should (and hopefully will) move it to Dec. Star Wars in Dec is almost tradition now and fits the holiday season, etc.
