2001 with LOTR-Harry Potter battle

A+. A masterpiece. I'm still expecting a Pixar movie wins the Best Picture Oscar
-
A+. My least favorite movie of trilogy but absolutely great.

I was talking about the influence of Star Wars over culture in general, not the influence over LOTR. I can't imagine Frodo with a Laser sword

My mistake. I remembered the best known. I like a lot La prima Angélica, Cría cuervos or Mama cumple 100 años. And with the same style than Saura, Buñuel's Le charme discret de la bourgeoisie (1973)And of course Bernardo Bertoluci with Conformista, Last Tango and 1900.And since you are from Spain Carlos Saura who delivered a few of his big masterpieces in the 70ies.

^I agree. I prefer LOTR, but the quality and influence of Star Wars OT are indubitable.

On TV, Smokey and the Bandit, I don't know if part II or III. At theaters, Mystery on Monster Island, a regrettable adventures Spanish movie, but with international cast (Terence Stamp and Peter Cushing). I watched it when I was 5 and I really enjoyed. But I watched it 20 years later and I must recognize how bad it is. Anyway I remember with pleasure my first movie

Duck Soup and A night at the opera. I will never get tired of seeing them

In my opinion, the best movie not only of 40s, but of the history, is Casablanca, but I also love To have and have not, Fantasia, To be or not to be, The third man, Citizen Kane, Gilda, The great dictator or Rebecca
