NoVA/DC Friday Sellout Update:

It was around this time of day that we got the first report from Variety saying that DH2 was about 55% ahead of TDK during the day, with $19 million.Should we expect any reports for this soon?
-
$24 million
-
I think this did a good job of creating the festive atmosphere that the book did
-
17 sellouts now, its almost keeping pace with DH2.
I'm expecting that number to start shooting up once all the schools are out.
-
So I guess these films just do better on the West than the East.On the flip side, Potter always had phenomenal sellouts on the East, but tended to be overestimated because the later west showings were not up to pace.

Can this hit 50 today?

That's fantastic, way above what I was expecting.I'll start doing a Friday sellout report as well

WB is pulling DH2 DVDs and Blu Rays out of production on December 29th

Most of this stuff was even shot (excluding the funeral), it just didn't make the final cut

Thoughts on Tick Tick Tick....

Ted stopped being the main character after Season 3

Happy Endings is excellent. Gets more laughs out of me than anything else on TV right now. If you're going to start from the beginning, I'll warn you that the first episode is easily the weakest. It really picks up past that.

OOTP suffered from being shot as a 3 hour 5 minute film and then being cut to 2 hours and 20 minutes.
http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2006/10/27/ootp-director-david-yates-i-ve-shot-a-movie-that-s-probably-over-three-hours"The book's huge, but it actually distills quite easily... That said, I've shot a movie that's probably over three hours, so I'll have to lose 45 minutes in the edit."

Yeah, they had a lot of room to work with that one, and I was surprised at the runtime. I caught Maximum Movie mode earlier today, and Yates emphasized a few times that he really wanted to maintain a brisk pace with this one. He just wanted to avoid anything that may slow the story down.

We should be getting a revised estimate from Nikki soon too, no?
