So is the trend for this weekend going to be that Paramount is fudging numbers if any Interstellar numbers are good? I can't wait for the endless Puerto Rico jokes.
-
So what's left? Two SW movies, two LOTR movies, TDK, Inception, Jurassic Park, and The Lion King? I'm missing 2 more, but I can't think of anything else at the moment.
Avatar? I mean, it feels like something from Cameron should be there.
Maybe Interstellar...

What's really left? 007 in New York?
Well they could reuse old titles. It's not like Casino Royale hadn't been used before.
-
Should have a title reveal soon.
Guesses on the title? Will they return to using one of the novels as a title or continue using original titles? It seems likely they could return to the Fleming novels considering they've reset the timeline now with the new M, Q, and Moneypenny.

I'm getting more and more excited for this. Could the weekend of November 7 possibly be the greatest movie weekend of the year? I think so.
I hope so. If it isn't, it would mean either this or Interstellar underwhelms at the box office and that would be disappointing.

I was also horrified by this choice because I thought it was Taylor Lautner until I clicked the link and saw the picture. At least I felt a little relief at the casting choice then. I'm bad with names and faces, ok?

Paging John Woo. Gimme some doves. Spinning. Flipping. Jumping over windows. Three minute one shot takes.
Slow motion. Shooting guns sideways. More doves.

Second one will be DAWN OF PANDORA.
Third one will be RISE OF PANDORA.
Last one is AGE OF PANDORA.
Just kidding, all I know is that the second one is gonna be called JUDGEMENT DAY.
Second one will be Avatars.

Didn't know this thread existed, so I'll add my own random thoughts beyond the fact that it was a fantastic series with a gut punch of an ending. I saw Dexter before this so I would giggle at times seeing Michael Hall in such a different role doing some very un-Dexter-like things, really impressed by his range to go from David Fisher to Dexter. Also, I kept thinking for the longest time that they would reveal Brenda was a transgender, she just looked very mannish to me for some reason.

Yes there are. To Kill A Mockingbird and 12 Angry Men for starters.
Yeah that's a ridiculous statement to make. I'll add Casablanca, Star Wars 4 and 5, Jaws, and Godfather 1 and 2 to that from the top of my head.

I don't know, there's one part that made my stomach heave a little.
When they find out what the protein bars are made of. Gag.

And I was just making the point that there are very few true A-list stars right now that to think less of actors that do depend on franchises for box office success is silly, since that's basically everyone in Hollywood.

This. I hate that, actually. Like people act as though Chris Evans is an A-lister big time draw or some shit.
or J-Law. *ducks*

Jolie did two Tomb Raider movies
Bullock had Speed 2 and Miss Congeniality 2. Though it seems like we have different definitions of box office success since you seem to be citing actors that had movies that turned a decent profit, but didn't really break out and make a lot of money.

Aka people who rely on franchises for their box office success.
Aka pretty much every actor and actress in Hollywood now.

Not a fan of the Alien movies after the second one. Sorry.
Fixed.

I really should rewatch Jaws again, it's been such a long time. The impact it had on me as a young kid was lasting though, I remember seeing Jaws and Psycho at a very young age and had a deep seated fear of water for the longest time.

Honestly, I think one could argue that Avatar is the JP of this generation. I personally wouldn't, but I could see the argument made for it. At least it's a better comparison than Transformers.

Things I'm looking forward to seeing for season 5 if not cut or changed from the books:
Drogon in the arena
Doran's speech to Arianne
Stoneheart reveal
Jaime ending the siege of Riverrun 'with a trebuchet'
Cersei drowning in stupidity and paranoia (though I didn't enjoy reading those chapters)
Quentyn realizing he's made a huge mistake
The ides of march for Jon Snow
Slynt's execution
Things I'm not looking forward to in season 5:
Spoilers from WoW which is why I won't be watching season 5

The concept of this film is great but what a stupid ending.
It was like some emo 16 year kid made it up.
Am I getting deja vu or didn't you already say that in this thread?

It still misses out on using Elba again though, just his character.

Is there a site that lists what cities this is being released in? I'm curious just how limited this release is.

So this is definitely a sequel and not a prequel? Ah well, I would have liked to have seen Elba take the lead and tell his story before the first movie since he was the only actor in PR worth a damn.

I don't get the hype. It's no better or worse than any B-grade sci-fi movie.
Must be because it's an acclaimed Korean director because there is really nothing special about this movie.
No offense (you'll probably take offense anyway), but given your opinions on the Transformers movies, I don't think this movie is marketed for you and the movies you like.

There's definitely IMAX buzz here. I already mentioned it in the main thread, but my local IMAX has sold out all showtimes from today until next Thursday. And the only reason it doesn't go further is because it's not available yet to buy tickets for next weekend.
