To me, these really good performances in some markets like Japan are like a double-edged sword because they make me feel even more disappointed about the market in the US. What it could've been vs. what it actually is... a bitter taste.

I'll take WB's management over the others' any day.

It is weird to see Tenet has been posting good weekend hold but their total still look low in comparison to their opening weekend number especially in france and UK.
Well the movie can have good weekend holds but not do that good during weekdays. Perhaps that's why you think the total should be higher by looking at weekend holds.

I feel like I'm the only one on the internet who doesn't care about Zendaya.

This is an incredibly ignorant way of thinking. Just because you understood the film doesn't mean the film makes sense to everyone.
Clearly lots of people have seen Tenet, and didn't understand it. Do you genuinely believe all those people are... idiots? People who can't concentrate? What...?
Incredibly ignorant...? Someone clearly woke up on the wrong side of bed today. He/She specifically used the words " weren't paying attention'. How you go from that to " idiots " is beyond me. I can tell my fiancee she didn't pay attention during Tenet and to take it as me calling her an idiot would be an absolute stretch. Lots of people don't pay much attention during movies, that's why most of the highest grossing movies are pieces that can be understood by everyone, without requiring much attention to details. The majority of movie-goers just go to the cinema for other reasons.

Both Batman and Dune have done very well trailer viewership wise. I think we can make an exception this time and consider those two to not be mutually exclusive, right guys?

this movie made no damn sense and if it didn't have "directed by christopher nolan" at the beginning, it would have an rt score of 30%
What exactly made no sense in it, provided you buy into the concept of inversion? Or were you expecting a physics documentary?

Why are people saying Tenet could leg its way to 500m? That's obviously not going to happen...
Because people won't have anything else to watch for a while.

Gotta say wasn’t impressed, at all. Speaking from a visual standpoint I think it looks pretty drab and cheap (NOT BECAUSE OF COLORS IF THAT’S WHAT YOU GUYS ARE STILL ON ABOUT).
So...because of colors?

The trailer seems to be faring pretty well. I know that’s not the best indicator of how well a movie will do, but for a movie like this, that’s got to count for something.
Yeah, I was expecting the trailer to bring in maybe 50% of the views it has in this point in time. I really want the movie to succeed so I hope that in this case it's a good sign.

Wow, that's A LOT of bullshit!
We haven't even got the first DOM numbers yet, and you are already claiming 800's China total > Tenet WW?
From what we know, weekdays has been great for Tenet OS, Germany is looking like a sub-30% drop for it, while Italia is also holding quite well. I see no reason to expect that this movie will finish under $400m WW, the WOM on this forums may not be great, but we have ZERO evidence that this movie is dropping like a rock.
Careful, you might get moderated for calling him out.

So it sounds like Tenet is screwed in China with the Mulan release date.
Your little campaign against Tenet is already boring. Try not to be so obvious next time.

The critics and fan reviews are overwhelmingly positive, many are saying the movie gets even better with repeat viewings.
Yeah, two of my family members and three of my friends have watched it and they all liked it. They didn't LOVE it but they definitely thought it was worth seeing on the big screen. Bad word of mouth came with something like suicide squad, not tenet.

$28.5M. Anything over $25M will please me, anything under will cause me mental issues.

I already booked my 2nd and 3rd viewing. The movie just won’t leave my mind and I can’t wait to watch it again without all the pressure surrounding the movie.
I've already seen it twice, gonna wait a few weeks before my 3rd viewing.

I mean... It definitely will out gross Terminator Dark Fate and Dark Phoenix...
Of course, it will almost be able to do it without US and China grosses. What would be an unquestionable "win" to you in the current state of the industry?

I'm very pleased with that number, 100% confident the movie won't be as big of a money-loser as some people think.

I mean... Seeing as I think Tenet's potential failure will push everything to 2021, sure?
The only contender left wouldve been Dune, but I am sure that will be pushed back. What other big movie would you say is more deserving of that title?

I saw it last night, my 6pm showing had around 50% of available seats sold, but the next one was fully sold out when I left the theater. I can't wait to see it again, it's not Nolan's best movie ( more like in the middle ) but I'll be damned if it's not the best blockbuster we are getting this year. People who complain too much about it can go watch Project Power or shit like that in the comfort of their homes, I'm watching this at least 3 times in the theater, it's a blast.

I'm in italy for a family visit this week and I booked seats for a screening tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to find movies not dubbed in italian here, but I will surely see it again in english eventually. Well, if I like it, of course.. but nolan has never disappointed me.

If I had to guess and I could be wrong, Maybe it’s cause he’s approaching a big group of guys so he wanted to set an example so the others wouldn’t attack him as well. I guess we’ll see when we watch the movie or in another trailer.
Maybe he just had a very bad day and wanted to blow off some steam. Doesn't sound like something Batman would do but then again he is still figuring the whole thing out. He is still...only human.

Sony has been cashing in lately, must be one of their most successful periods in recent time.

Thats the thing. Sony have no ownership over the SpiderMan game, they just publish it. Unless Marvel signed off on all SpiderMan games only getting published through Sony exclusively (which I doubt), then what’s stopping future games from heading off to Xbox?
Maybe the fact they would sell less than 1/5 of what they would on Playstation?

Well you see that’s the thing, they effectively spent $71.3 billion on Fox so they will want to see some sort of return on that.
They will get around a 95-100% return with the Avatar sequels according to some members on this site.
