  1. Seems like Dragon Ball Super: Broly made between $8.7M-$9M (est.) for its 3-day start, which would sit between the openings of Battle of Gods and Resurrection F. Not bad but I expected it to be a bit higher, considering how the production seems higher for it and how it's a better movie than Resurrection F. Hopefully its legs will offer a final tally at the top of the DB movies.

More and more we are seeing that you can open a movie people want to see at any point and it can do great.

Not only that, that multiple hits can do great business together in a perceived lesser month - even in a month like October.

Halloween’s opening is incredible. And I thought people were watching Daredevil this weekend!

The weekend estimates will look like a summer one - great stuff

I mean.. it's spooktober and the movie is a horror called Halloween, I don't think you can apply your logic to other movies.

Jake and Collin (Farrell) are good actors who get lost in blockbusters (outside of fun supporting roles such as Collin's stint on fantastic Beasts). They are just out of their depth when they have to play traditional heroes. In short, headlining blockbusters isn't for everyone. It's really for larger-than-life personalities who know how to infuse those usually stock role with that aspect of themselves. That's why the Rock prospers in the genre and so do MCU actors who turn all their charisma on and play it up big.

Perhaps that statement goes for Collin, but for Jake? Just based on his role in Prince of Persia? I wouldn't jump to that conclusion.
