  2. Actually, WB is considering AS' gross to be part of 2014 according comingsoon.net
  3. Unfortunately, that amount is added onto the 2014 box office since American Sniper platformed on Christmas Day, but it still would give Warner Bros. their fourth $200 million movie for last year. The last-minute unconventional decision to open Eastwood’s drama into 332 IMAX screens paid off, as it grossed a projected $11.5 million from those showings, surpassing Avatar‘s previous MLK weekend record of $9.7 million. It’s also bested Ridley Scott’s Prometheus as the biggest IMAX record for an R-rated movie. http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/400751-american-sniper-shoots-for-the-skies-with-90-2-million-opening#/slide/1
  4. Are we still using AS' A+ cinemascore from the 4 theaters or is this a new cinemascore from this weekend?
  5. Yeah it's kinda weird calling this weekend OW. I saw this 3 weeks ago
  6. The 2 biggest highest rated games(after the Super Bowl) are on today. If you look at the history of box office the day before the MLK holiday, Sunday drops are the same as every other Sunday or sometimes worse. Some movies dropped 40%+ last year.
  7. I'm really waiting for what kind of drop is predicted for today. American Sniper vs American Football.
  8. In fact Frozen dropped 24% last year on Sunday while all other movies in the top 10 dropped 35%+ (slightly larger than other Sundays in January). Considering AS is rated R, who knows what kinda drop it will have. Anything less than 30% would be shocking.
  9. Last year both games had 50M and 55M viewers respectively. All movies continued to decrease 30%+ despite the Monday holiday. If NFL hasn't been hitting the box office on MLK Sunday then something else has.
  10. Hopefully this holds tomorrow. It seems like every year movies seem to drop on Sunday just as every other Sunday in January. I think NFL plays a big part in those drops. It doesn't make sense. MLK is a national holiday, Sunday numbers should be way better.
  11. American Sniper IMAX is doing pretty well. 6PM show is about 80% sold and 10PM show looks the same.
  12. HUGE NFL games tomorrow. It looks like it hit the box office last year.
  13. Where do people keep getting 100M from? Most movies still dropped 30%+ on Sunday last year.
  14. I didn't even think it would get a big wide release lol The movie is great btw fellas.
  15. Had no idea Lincoln Square would play it on its IMAX screen. I saw it about 3 weeks ago at Lincoln Square in regular format.
  16. So we're just posting random tweets? I mean AS is not trending last time I checked.
