That's a big misconception. People seem to think Walmart didn't sell a lot of tickets by WOM. No media outlets reported such a thing. People came on this forum and said "I know someone at Walmart who said they didn't sell a lot".I'm pretty sure there was an "actual" on that Thursday preview by Walmart.

I'd hate to bring up TDK - TDKR OW comparisons given the stuff that happened on TDKR OW, but if this opens anywhere around THG OW, this could be a sign that some series won't blow up as much as we think they can.

Well to be fair, Walmart tickets did not count towards the OW for MoS.This is confusing because no one has a clue if the previews showed frontloadedness or backloadedness.
