  16. LAS VEGAS – April 15, 2013 – IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX; TSX:IMX) and Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom (NASDAQ: VIA and VIAB), tonight announced an agreement to release five of Paramount Pictures’ upcoming films in the immersive IMAX format under an extension of the companies’ long-running partnership. The arrangement features some of Paramount’s most highly anticipated tentpole films, including Michael Bay’s Transformers 4 (June 2014) as well as its co-production of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar (November 2014) and three titles that have yet to be announced.Continuing the legacy begun by IMAX trailblazer Christopher Nolan and his use of the 15 perf 65mm IMAX® cameras in The Dark Knight, Nolan and Michael Bay will once again capture material and key sequences of these 2014 releases using IMAX® cameras. These specific sequences, which will expand to fill more of the screen exclusively in IMAX, will deliver unprecedented crispness and clarity and a truly immersive experience for moviegoers.
  17. IMAX has an exclusivity deal with WB and Paramount. Not sure what this means but I'm sure it has something do with lengthy runs.Which is also going to help TF4 next year.
  18. Shitty Summer scheduling.STID kept its REAL IMAX screen here in NYC till MoS.
  19. Why the fuck am I watching Elektra!?Why is this shit even on Cable?
  20. Most likely. TDK stayed in IMAX for a long time because there weren't too many IMAX films in 2008.
  21. http://collider.com/interstellar-imax-christopher-nolan/Christopher Nolan shot 28 minutes of The Dark Knight with IMAX cameras. He followed with 72 minutes of IMAX footage for The Dark Knight Rises. We learned with the release date announcement that his next project, Interstellar, is destined for IMAX. At CinemaCon tonight, Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Entertainment, revealed Nolan will shoot a significant portion of Interstellar with IMAX cameras. I imagine Nolan wants to test the limits of the technology and film as much of this “heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding” as possible in his ideal format. We will see if he can push it to 100 minutes or more this time around and—fingers crossed—shoot an entire feature film in IMAX in the near future.
  22. STID had about 20 minutes of real IMAX. Da fuq? Not to mention this Summers scheduling in movies was horrid.
  23. WB and Paramount made an exclusive IMAX deal. Who knows if MJ1 will have an IMAX opening to begin with?Either way, any film that has actual IMAX footage always has a long run on IMAX screens.(3-4 months)
  24. Actually in NYC. TDKR lost digital IMAX to RE5 for 2 weekends then every IMAX played TDKR again till The Hobbit(another WB movie).
