Sure the movie was alright, but where is the second half? Jk, but seriously that's exactly what the ending felt like, very stupid. Watching this film is making a bad investment with little compensation.

Star Wars is by far the most over rated film series in history. Don't get the love for these films. This is more about a genre but I can not stand the look of anime. It all looks horrible to me.
I second all of this.
I don't get what's so special/good about Star Wars (for the modern generation, I'm 20) besides its historical significance as a film.
And I also really dislike anime. Watched it all the time as a kid, but I can hardly stand it now.

I avoided watching this film for so long because I thought it was skewed too young. How wrong I was! I'm 20 and I haven't laughed this hard watching a movie since 2013's This Is the End. I mean, people talk about how Minions has adult jokes, but this is one has plenty of them too, except they're ACTUALLY FUNNY here! I'm telling you, this movie is comedy gold. And it even gets a bit touching at the end (and oh so adorable!).
I give this an A for being an excellent comedy for all ages. The lesson here is to never, ever underestimate Aardman.
Oh and did anyone else start questioning their life choices and consider starting a farm after watching this film?

The Good:
- Beautiful art
- Funny
- Cute characters
- Short (could be considered a con)
The Bad:
- Weak story
- Doesn't reprimand theft
- Ending felt very forced
- Weak execution of message
Overall, I'll give it a B-.
Sure, it has problems, but it's pretty, short, for kids, and I enjoyed it for what it is. I won't judge it too harshly. But it's very overrated for sure.

@lolifofo Dammit man, why didn't you find this in time to make your list! Our opinions aligned way too much it seems.
College, man. It makes you forget what matters most in life: ranking animated movies!

Idk how I feel about Inside Out winning. It's a good movie. However, I've seen it three times, and for me it never manages to reach the level of storytelling and emotional depth of other Pixar films like Wall-E, Toy Story 3, Ratatouille, or Up. I guess it won because it has the least haters. I'll just pretend The Lion King won because it would have if my list was included

10th - Toy Story 3
385pts - 21 votes, 3 FIRST, 6 top 5, 2 top 10 (2014: 4th: Down 6)
Well I for one, didn't foresee this showing up this early.
In fact Toy Story 3 was one of the 3 films left on the list never to hit the top spot. Saying that I'm also okay with this slightly lower than I expected finish. It's a great film and the emotional stuff is done to the height of Pixar's heart crushing powers. Still though, I found this film just a little more forced than the previous two and as such it deserves to place very high in my book. But not all time great high.
A drop of 6 places is quite severe. Especially considering we are at the point where there is only one film left on this list that was not eligible back in 2014.
So sad seeing my personal #1 drop so much. And what's up with Toy Story 1 being the highest-ranked of the three? That's the least good one... Anyway here's hoping my #2 Wall-E manages to enter top 3 at least. If I only I noticed this thread in time to vote...

I wonder if they tried to bring Jennifer Yuh from KFP3 to the roundtable. Would have been nice to hear her thoughts on the industry.

I don't hate Finding Nemo, but I always thought it was the most overrated Pixar movie. It's just alright. I still like it.
I think the only movie I don't like in the top 20 is
SpoilerPrincess Mononoke
Grave of the Fireflies deserves its place. So much better.

The only other time a Pixar movie was not nominated for a best animated feature Golden Globe was 2013's Monsters University. Even Cars 2 and the Good Dinosaur both got nominations. This is indeed surprising.

We were all wrong!
Finding Dory, Kung Fu Panda 3 and The Secret Life of Pets and The Red Turtle were all snubbed, and My Life as a Zucchini and Sing were nominated.
I am mostly shocked over the Finding Dory snub. I guess I completely overlooked Sing. Zucchini is a pleasant surprise though.

I didn't vote so I'm not in a position to complain about the ranking, but I'll say what Finding Nemo is to chasmmi Ratatouille is to me.
Maybe try watching it (Ratatouille) again if you haven't already? I didn't like it the first time I watched it, but after a second watch I realized it's a masterpiece.

If this is the best movie of the year, then 2016 was a pretty shitty year for movies. It's not bad, but it definitely doesn't deserve the colossal praise it's getting. Also, could they sing any quieter? I could barely make out what they were saying...And yeah the ending didn't work for me either.
