  1. I took a 45-minute bus trip to see this film in IMAX, and on top of that, it took me 2 hours to find a bus to take me back to my dorm.

    And let me just say it was worth every fucking minute of my time. Best cinematic experience of my life, and one of the best films I've ever seen. I got teary-eyed at the end and didn't want to leave my theater room, ever, because I was so mesmerized and blown away by this experience. It was a masterpiece on every level, and in my opinion, even better than the original, which I also loved.

    At the same time, I am extremely sad that this film is flopping because I would have loved to see what happens in the sequel. Actually, screw that, I NEED to know what happens later in this story. Goddammit general audiences, why do you let masterpieces like this fail at the box office while generic shits make billions of dollars? Asia, please save this movie!

    Anyway...

    A+++++++++++

    Duh!

  2. I saw all the major animated releases for this year so far, and I only see Lego Batman and Lego Ninjago as being barely worthy of nominations. The former might get a nom, but I doubt Ninjago will. Coco will certainly get a nomination so that leaves us with 3-4 open spots just waiting to be filled by anything half-decent. I have zero hope for The Star and Ferdinand, so I really don't see why indie films shouldn't conquer most of these left spots. If they don't then this award category has officially gone to shit with the recent rule chance if they're actually going to fill it with the likes of Despicable Me 3, Boss Baby, Smurfs, and what not. Not that it was perfect before, but this would be the nail in the coffin. Just my two cents.

  3. Pretty straightforward poll. I'm sorry if I missed some important ones. That's why the "other" option exists. Overall I've really enjoyed this decade in animation so far; it's probably the best yet. So much content diversity and studios entering the scene, not the mention the visuals generally getting better year after year. I believe the next 3 years will actually be the strongest thus far, but for now, let's muse on what the last seven years have given us in animation.

    Also, if you voted "other," kindly share with us your pick in the comments.
