Oh I see, it's still impressive though, Twilight being much bigger than SW in Brazil. Will you watch it this week? :)

I will watch Star Wars marathon, right now. And then later I will decide if I'll go see SW7. But, even if I say "yes", it won't be on this weekend. I hate crowded theaters.

That also means SW7 broke the all-time presales record, in Brazil who would believe it? We expected a big fail 2 months ago!

    You shouldn't count on it.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 still holds the all-time presales record, with 600.000 tickets.

Avengers: Age of Ultron was #1 on ingressos.com, but was apparently down in other places. It sold 400.000 tickets on presales.

  6. I think MJ2 is playing a little bit under MJ1 in admissions...

    According to Paris Filmes:

"More than 1 million people already saw the movie" - Updated on Saturday, November 22, 2015 (Source).

By comparison, when PF tweet about MJ1:

"Until yesterday the film was attended by more than 1.1 million" - Saturday, November 22, 2014 (Source)

$8m is not enough, you'd need $9.2m to get R$23m

We don't know the ER for each day fullbuster.

But here is Raphael himself saying the ESTIMATES for that weekend:

On 23/11/2014 15:10:42, Mockingjay Raphael said:

and Brazil garnered almost 60% market share on $8.8M during a long holiday weekend.

    Flop

On 24/11/2014 13:41:43, Mockingjay Raphael said:

Mockingjay made R$ 22M with 1,8M of ADM.

    There is something weird, that doesn't match the exchange rate in November 2014...$7.2m * 2.50 ($1 = R$2.5 in Nov 2014) = R$18m

With an OW reaching $6.8m MJ2 would get R$26m.

They maybe used another ER to count on BOM. If i'm not wrong on The-Numbers website they put $8m.

lol no. thg has set way too many records to be forgotten, and Katniss is extremely iconic. Especially compared to Bella. Tbh I don't imagine any other YA franchise making the numbers of the big 3 (HP, Twilight, and THG).

I also find it funny how Twilight is supposedly "never to be seen or heard of again" but here we are talking about it. As bad as the films may be, Twilight broke records too, and is still pretty much beloved by a few people.

Disagree, just because there's nothing interesting right now. Doesn't mean that it's going to be like that forever.

Well, I guess that makes sense. But the decrease from CF to MJ was already too big (90m is a lot) and even the opening was substantially lower.

Anyway, if MJ hadn't been split in two parts i bet it would be more succesful. Yeah, they are making more money like this, but they are reaching less people and compromising the way the story is being told, i hate that.

I believe the OW for MJ1 was lower because of the Book's WOM.

When CF finished it's run, people were saying that Mockingjay was the worst book, and Mockingjay Part 1 was going to be super boring. It didn't encourage anyone.

    Also, spoilers where/are EVERYWHERE.

since CF grossed 420m i thoguht people were hyped for this, and it ends in such a cliffhanger, it has been only 2 years where did everyone go?

I'm shocked with this run too.

But there's obvious reasons it happened:

    1. GA only cared about the games.

    2. Mockingjay book is not well received.

    3. Mockingjay Part 1 was boring and didn't had a good cliffhanger.

    That's the difference between DHP1 and BD1 to MJ1.

BD1 was as boring as MJ1, but the cliffhanger made the difference. People rushed to see Bella as a vampire in BD2.

MJ1 cliffhanger was like..."You care about Katniss's boyfriend? Watch the next movie to see if he's okay!". I mean, outside of the fanbase, who cares about him? <_<

DH1 was very well received, and people weren't expecting much, since they were coming from HBP. Enough to bring people to see the next part. While MJ1, was just a huge disappointment for the GA who expected a lot more after CF's cliffhanger.

    Anyway, that's all my opinion.

Good Sabrina, keep us informed :) Glad You came back.

Are you interested in Star Wars 7 by the way?

Thank you. I'm glad to be here too. I just came because you and Raphael said that I should be here during MJ2 release.

I am. A lot. But I haven't seen the other movies.

I'll try to watch them, before the release of SW7.

Breaking Dawn 2 OD more than 1 million admissions

AOU made 800k on first day.

    4-day estimates 2.5M admissions, MJ1 made 2.2M after 5 days.

I don't know who made this article, but the numbers for MJ1 and CF are all wrong. MJ1 opened to 1.9M adm (5-Days). While CF opened to 1M adm (3-Days).

Anyway, they are estimating for MJ2: 2.5M admissions (5-Days OW).
