  2. So…is it not too late for Terrifier 3 to get a last-minute IMAX conversion? Surely that’s the better play right now.
  3. Moderation @HummingLemon496 This "Agent Cooper" schtick has lost all its charm, and people are sick of it. And this whole "Superman is going to be the most epic bomb ever and open in second place" and mocking people who dare to be even slightly optimistic over this silly kids movie, like you did in your most recent post, is not something we need here. You're an adult, so act like one. Do anymore of this childish nonsense and you will see a threadban. It's your choice.
  4. I think the biggest telltale sign Marvel was losing steam was when Loki aired. The show itself was fine, but you had it coming out almost immediately after Falcon and Winter Soldier, which was immediately following WandaVision before it. I think Falcon premiered like two weeks after WandaVision. But then you had Loki airing a new episode on the exact same week as Black Widow premiered, and it just felt like we were being forcefed Marvel stuff down our throats with little time to breathe and enjoy what we had. It's absence that makes the heart grow fonder after all. Nobody likes having too much of a good thing. And that's not even getting into all the other superhero stuff that was on every streaming service around that time. You had like The Boys and Invincible airing new episodes around that time too, I think Netflix might have had a superhero show that got canceled shortly after. Like it's no wonder a major chunk of viewers got sick of this whole enterprise, especially when this onslaught clearly impacted the quality of the movies and the shows.
  5. To be fair, the Despicable Me series isn't really known for having much effort put into it in the first place lol
  6. Because most people don't actually know how the box office works. Simple as that really.
  7. Universal movies typically have their movies premiere on PVOD 17 days after release. They've been doing it for like four years now. And before you say anything, it's been proven numerous times that an early PVOD release means nothing for legs whatsoever and hasn't hurt Universal nor its movies in any way whatsoever. So yeah.
  8. That’s because audiences were willing to watch stuff that wasn’t something they were already familiar with back then. Now their brains can’t handle watching something that isn’t based on something from their childhoods. If Despciable Me came out today, it would have done 40M at best and only gross like 135M domestically. It’s just depressing
  9. Mickey’s Law strikes again. What a crying shame.
  10. Okay but like…none of those movies would be seen as overintellectual or risqué back then? They aren’t hard to follow, they don’t say anything that daring, even by the standards of the 2000s. I dunno. Maybe most of those movies were hits because they are based on nostalgic brands. 🤷
  11. Those movies being considered “overintellectual” sounds utterly terrifying.
  12. Anyways, Book of Mormon Act 1 is done. The show is a blast, but holy smokes you can tell this first came out in 2011 🫣
  13. Nope. Seeing Book of Mormon with my mom. It’s my first time, her second. Very exciting!
  14. This is my favorite part so far "It's basically the same movie as Lincoln" should be on the DVD cover.
  15. Moderation @MightyDargon has been thread banned for 24 hours for continuing to troll Joker 2 and its results when I asked them not to.
  16. They’re gonna have Jacob Tremblay play the baby from the first movie.
  17. Moderation Alright @Cooper Legion @TomThomas it’s clear neither of you will see eye to eye here, and people are already growing tired of this argument. I think it’s time to give it a rest. If you still want to argue, you can do it privately
  18. I mean once we get actual numbers, the conversation will pivot. I’m pretty sure this whole “are CBMs dead tho” conversation is about to wrap up now. And if not? Then I’ll use my mod powers to stop it when I think it’s needed. Now is not the time.
