Another reason to love Beyond.
John Cho/Sulu giving us that deserved Asian representation while other big franchises give no fucks.
Donnie Yen's gonna rock this December.

Speaking of what's in that tag,
Spoilerwhen Alberto got shot by Tanner, everyone in the theater gasped. And it was about 75% full, so it was pretty damn audible. It made me forget how wonderful crowds can be sometimes.

I think most people (at least the ones who know his name) know he can act. He's usually very good in almost everything he does.
Well I didn't know who he was until this year, so I had no idea he was this talented.

It sucks that Ben Foster's other 2016 efforts were so bad, because this movie proves that he can really, really act. He's easily the highlight of the movie, and hopefully this movie gives him better scripts.

Actually reviews aren't entirely unfavorable towards BIW. They paint that the 3rd act is bad, but everything beforehand is great. Maybe still worth giving it a chance?
Well he can't give it a chance, since Relativity pulled it...again.

My mom said I was allowed to see 4 more movies before school starts. So I'll be trying to see Jason Bourne, Pete's Dragon, War Dogs, and Kubo by September.
Where's Hell or High Water?

So I know this is completely random, but I remember a discussion of how GOTG2 only had Pirates of the Caribbean as bigger budget film to compete with in May and how Pirates had Memorial Day Weekend all to itself and why a studio wouldn't move one of their bigger budget films to that weekend. Well this happened a few weeks ago but apparently Sony moved their Sci-Fi thriller "Life" to that weekend. It stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds and is about astronauts and stuff. Will be interesting to see how that film plays out (if its any good) against Pirates.
I see it grossing inbetween Alice 2 and Tomorrowland #s. But I doubt the budget will be anything extreme, so it'll probably be a success. I'd love for it to break out though; the premise sounds cool, and it's got my man Jake Gyllenhall. (And I assume you're excited to see Mr. Blake Lively in this movie. )

The most exciting box office thing that happened was I just had a dream that Spider-Man homecoming had a 104M OD. I "watched" the first 20 minutes of it in my dream and it was good as hell.
Was Zendaya a redhead?

Gotta tell you guys, the reviews for this have me all tingly inside and out. I'm not for reviews to influence me but I do respect some of the reviewers who have weighed in so far. They pretty much all say that Wingard has blown the roof off of the horror genre and the last third of this film is going to rewrite the book on horror.
Slight spoilers in this little blurb here, but nothing that gives away plot pieces:
and then this beauty:
September 16th seems so far away.
Welp, now I have to see Blair Witch Project now.

The first footage is arriving in October (trailer with Inferno I guess). I know very little about the books, but the cast is worth a ticket alone for me.

Or Tuesday is just big. The final Ice Age movie also jumped big in July.
Well it makes sense. If I had to take my kid to a movie, and I had to choose between a Monday or a Tuesday, I'd choose the day that would cost me $13 instead of $15-17.

DC Fans when critics don't like their movies
Y'know, insulting the other side sets more fuel to the fire. Do you really want to continue these flame wars?

At the beginning of the summer I thought.... along with everybody else that this is pointless and it's going to tank badly. But for some reason the closer we get to it the more reviews I read about it and the more commercials I see for it I just have this nagging feeling that's going to do way better then I think anyways think it will. Yes it should Miss double digits this weekend. But part of me is thinking it's going to do something crazy like open to 20 million.
There are reviews for Ben-Hur out already?

So does the domestic trailer actually reveal too much like it was rumored to?

Studios should release their crappy movies 1 week after DCEU films debut, it seems the critics will give rave reviews to any movie who can
push DCEU down.Oh yeah, I agree. I'm amazed that God's Not Dead 2 was given such rave reviews. And Meet the Blacks getting stellar praise? Those darn critics.

I hate it too. But its also the movie thay makes me fall in love with McAvoy. So sometimes, that gives me conflicted feelings.
I know right? McAvoy's able to give a character that had so little personality, and gave him so much likability, warmth, and heart. It sucks that he's still so underrated in Hollywood.

Oh come on. It deserved every bit of praise it got. Better than that shitty Juno movie that everyone seemed to like despite its low quality.
Well if the characters actually had motivations that made sense and had more personality than just, "nice James McAvoy", "precocious Saorise Ronan", and "sad Keira Knightley", maybe I'd sing a different tune. Everything else about it is great, but its main cog is just...ugh.

Yeah, such an ART FILM THAT WAS DIRECTED BY THE GUY THAT MADE...
Okay he had a solid track record with affecting dramas like Pride and Prejudice and Atonement before doing shit like The Soloist and Anna Karenina, and of course, PAN.
Atonement's really not that good, tbh. How it was nominated for Best Screenplay, let alone Best Picture is baffling.

25% VADAH
25% Amazing and beautiful cast of diverse and unique characters, all of them either up-and-comers, or severely underrated actors.
