One of the few upsides to theaters post-COVID has been international releases getting more theater play and more attention. Something like RRR or Demon Slayer would have been lucky to get 10M in 2018. Now they get PLF play and open and gross solid numbers consistently. It’s nice.

I mean…there’s not much else to talk about IMO. Renaissance and Godzilla are doing well for what they are, but aren’t doing anything groundbreaking. Songbirds is holding well, but isn’t having super epic legs. And Wish is still quite new when it comes to its run and is a major failure that people are invested in talking about. If you’re not interested in these conversations, that is fine. I find talking about bombs quite boring myself. But I don’t think there’s much else to converse about from what I see. Unless of course you think there’s something more interesting to argue. And if so, go on right ahead.

My Regal already relegated Holdovers to just one showtime a day. Understandable with five new releases, and adding in Dream Scenario to their expansion, but it's definitely unfair and disappointing to a great film like this.

Strange World's biggest problem is that everything feels like a rough draft to something interesting. From the characters to the writing to the concept to the themes. It's all got strong potential, but the lack of depth just means the whole thing's pretty bland. A pity.

We need more Dirty Harry/James Bond-style titles where you don't need some sort of slogan or tagline to make stupid people go, "oh it's in that franchise." Like who would want an unwieldy title like "Octopussy: A James Bond Mission"?
