I was looking at the numbers for the next couple week's releases here in Philly, and this is about right. FvF, at least at a cursory glance, looked like it sold about the same as Doctor Sleep, and it still has an extra week to go, while Charlie's Angels sales are really soft.
Quick maths with Jokah and Mal2 would be about 13.9 for the former and 13M for the latter (I think). Both would be great results (sub-35% drops for both) and above BOP's estimates from earlier today

And I guess this Friday confirms it. Paramount's now the first studio to have all its films gross less than 100M domestically since 1995, also done by Paramount (yeah I know that Playing with Fire is next week, but...come on).
This might also happen to Fox, although Ford v Ferrari and maybe Spies in Disguise still have a decent chance. We're really living in a Haves/Have Nots world aren't we?
FWIW, my parents were both very excited when they heard they were gonna make a sequel to Top Gun. They were both just out of college when the first movie came out, so Maverick is basically their Jurassic World, and I think there's a lot of people like them. (though obviously it won't get anywhere close to Jurassic World lol)

I'm with you on Addams, but I think Maleficent can still cross the mark easily. If that weekend holds, it gets to 105M if it follows the rest of Dumbo's run. And Mal2 already held better and earnedd a larger raw gross for weekend 2 and 3 (again if it holds) than Dumbo did.
