By comparison, a couple weeks befor release, Solo had projections of $170M for the 4-Day, while Pirates 5 was about $115M for the 4-Day. So yeah, doesn't bode that well for it to stick, but with this being more family-driven, maybe things will be different?

Aladdin (and Toy Story 4) are attached to the 3D shows. Star Wars and Lion King are the 2D shows. It's a strategy that Disney employed with TFA. Put the higher-profile movies, more "important" movies in the 2D version (Zootopia, Civil War) and put the movies that look "cooler" with the 3D effect in the 3D version (The Finest Hours, The Jungle Book)

The early preview shows just keep on coming... On Saturday, May 18, Rocketman will be getting the "Fandango Early Access" treatment with 7 PM screenings. Awesome! Then on Saturday, May 25, Secret Life of Pets 2 will have Fandango Early Access shows at 3 PM. Also awesome I guess (probably gonna skip that one though. I went to an early access showing of Lego Movie 2 at that time and...let's just say it did not go over well)

Today's probably going to be 25M for Endgame, which is definitely still big, but a lot more manageable than 30M+. FWIW, when you look at Pulse, there's a lot more "1 ticket sold" movies in there than there were on Monday or Tuesday.

It may not necessarily be perfect, but these numbers all seem solid. I don't want to pin Pikachu's jump entirely on Sonic, but either way, this is a really strong bump. Decent for Wick as well. Aladdin's also doing...fine out of 10. Somebody mentioned here something along the lines of "Aladdin could be doing better, but nothing that's concerning", and I think that sounds about right.

I still think one of the May movies could've been moved to June with no hassle and give good breathing room to both months. The two massive blockbusters of that month are animated family films, while stuff like Dark Phoenix and MIB are total no1currs. Wick or Godzilla could have moved on the same day as Toy Story and there would probably be little to no audience overlap between the two.

I have...ties...to...certain aspects of...furrydom. And yeah, pretty much all of the furry peeps I know are dogpiling on this mess. Not even the gross and weird sections of the fandom are into it. I'm also close to a lot of people in the Sonic fanon community (yes I'm 8 years old, why do you ask?). And yeah, literally nobody in the fanbase likes this. Even the people who were like "give this a chance" are now all "yeah, this is gonna suck". Keep in mind, Sonic 06, a game that is literally unfinished, has a few ardent defenders in the community. They're gonna need to really push that Sonic/Marsden lovefest, or add Shadow or something if they want that Venom appeal. Because I don't think sexy Eggman's gonna cut it.
