  1. Okay maybe scrapping it is off the cards, but all the Letitia shit and the production delays just makes it seem like the movie's a nightmare right now (yes I know bad production doesn't mean a bad movie), and it's not like there's any loose ends at the Wakanda side of things. The first Black Panther ends on a good note, Wakanda has its king back after Endgame and all is happy there. I guess they were planning some big stuff with that Namor dude as the bad guy, but you could probably slot him as like the bad guy in Shang-Chi 2 or whoever.
  2. I'm assuming Wakanda Forever gets pushed back/scrapped completely, and in that case, I honestly think Love and Thunder will probably be the biggest Marvel movie next year. People love the guy after Ragnarok, Taika will have a lot of the fun vibes and energy retained, and the stuff with Guardians and Portman as Lady Thor seem like good enough hooks to spice things up. Doctor Strange is my favorite MCU character and I'm suuuuper hyped for Multiverse of Madness, but I'm still not wholly convinced he's big enough of a name, nor will the fun multiverse stuff be as strong of a hook like NWH had, despite some of the alleged cameos. Could be wrong of course and obviously marketing could change my mind just like that.
  3. Because it kicks ass and Queen Rey is a goddess amongst us mere mortals. That's why.
  4. Speaking of Sony franchises, and I know this is really off-topic, is it weird to anybody else that there's no traction on the next Jumanji movie? I know Dwayne's got 30 other projects coming out this week, but this feels like something that would be a top priority for all parties involved and I don't think this is a franchise that can handle a super long break between movies. Same also applies to Bad Boys 4. I get both of these projects were hit by COVID, but I would think now would be the time for fast tracking.
  5. Anyways, moving on to another topic This merger sucked, the tentpole industrial complex domination is terrible, capitalism will kill us faster than the virus, blah blah blah. Man this stuff is just tiring.
  6. This shit always happens when I'm asleep.... Baumer, of course we are not allowing spoilers. And in a good majority of stuff talked about, like Goblin, it's already in the trailer. However, and this is a big however, the issue with T&A is that it's one topic that everybody is talking about. In the NWH thread, it was practically expected for them to show up. It was the only thing people wanted to talk about with this movie. It was a huge selling point for this movie and something people expected the second Doc Ock was announced. If we didn't, then there was much less for people to talk about, speculate, and discuss, and things are way less fun as a result. And frankly, if you're here to talk about NWH, chances are you've been following things closely in regards to what happens in the movie. The big compromise here is that we don't allow anything surrounding T&A to be revealed. No plot points about them, no mentioning of their action scenes, no contributions to the screenplay, no images from the movie with them, no nothing. And I think that's fair. T&A was an open secret, especially to the 99% of people here, but it's not fair to reveal what they actually do. And frankly, this is going to be a one-time thing due to conflicting outside circumstances. When The Batman or Doctor Strange 2 comes out, we're gonna be super strict on this stuff like we always are. This is a one-time thing and we're keeping this a one-time thing. Trust me.

  10. I got the trailer for this in front of NWH. A kid right next to me was freaking out saying "ITS MYSTERIO" when Gyllenhaal showed up. It was certainly an odd experience to say the least.
  11. Shang-Chi came out at the peak of Delta and it did fine. The Batman has just as, arguably more hype than Shang-Chi. It'll be alright.
  12. Also adding into the debates earlier about the next quarter and Omnicron and all that crap, Scream, Morbius, Uncharted, Batman, Sonic, and Beasts will all stay intact. Those are the big (or supposed to be in some cases) movies and the audiences for those don't give two craps about any variants. Turning Red will probably stay theaters only too, though it'll probably suffer because I still don't see kids or families coming back yet. The smaller releases should still release on their dates, but a couple of the more notable ones, like Bad Guys or Lost City or Downton Abbey or Ambulance will probably get a day-and-date launch, either on PVOD or on Peacock/Paramount+. I know some will yell at me for daring to suggest this and that Omnicron is totes not a problem (btw please don't bother with the yelling, it won't change my mind), but these companies want streaming product out there and those are audience demos that aren't willing to come back yet and I see little evidence of them eager to return.
  13. Yeah basically. And Cinemark's willing to play ball and get Netflix movies in their theaters. I'm sure them and the other chains will cut a decent deal with the studios that pump out the product that keeps their lights on so that things aren't limited to just arthouses and mom-and-pop theaters.
  14. I've been thinking 75M DOM for a while now. Even if you take out all the Rowling/Depp stuff, which is still a big factor, it just feels like only the absolute biggest Potter diehards truly care about this series or what goes on there. Hell, I'm a Potter diehard (Screw Joanne tho) and I didn't even get into the first Fantastic Beasts.
  15. I said this before, only to get yelled at for EmpireCity for daring to say this, but I do think adult dramas/awards hopefuls/indies will still get a theatrical release. Those capitalist studio bastards still like greenlighting these kinds of films for awards opportunities/adding prestige to their studio catalog/streaming service...they'll just become day-and-date theatrical/PVOD hybrids. It's still far from perfect and has some implications, but at this stage in the game, it's certainly better than nothing.
