  1. 1989? Last Crusade, Ghostbusters II and Batman all got the highest opening weekend of all time one after the other
  2. Yes, spoiler tagging is a must. I'm not gonna read it because I want to go in blind however.
  3. Isn't this rated R? And just looking at the trailers, it's pretty clear this is gritty, gruesome stuff.
  4. Moderation Yeah we're not doing this anymore. Every time EmpireCity comes around here and reports something people don't like it becomes a massive brouhaha and I'm sick of it. @Ethan Hunt you don't have to listen or like what he has to say, but you're fighting fire with fire and are making things worse. If you don't like what he has to say, ignoring him just makes things so much easier for all of us.
  5. Dude I’m autistic. And as an autistic, let me tell you the mainstream ideals that autism is something that must be cured is hurtful, anti-disability stuff
  6. Well I mean "Let's fight autism" also has a lot of toxic and gross implications too, but I get where you are coming from though.
  7. I guess I should also mention I'm not exactly giddy about getting this Snake Eyes trailer all the time and I'm confused by a lot of people here thinking the film looks okay. Though I'll admit the GI Joe PSA parody they did was quite good. Definitely persuaded me to see it more than any of the trailers did. Still rooting for it just on the grounds of "good box office = happy Eric" and well...gotta support MrPink in these times of crisis.
  8. Just gonna mention if you guys want a documentary that's authentic and doesn't use any garbage AI voice reproduction, Summer of Soul is a truly great work that deserves the numbers this movie's getting.
  9. Just to add into the BW discourse, I distinctly remember when Homecoming and Wasp both dropped into the 60s we had tons of doom and gloom and concern about these movies and their receptions. And from week 3 onwards, these movies stabilized and saw solid enough holds through the end of the summer. I know people will argue PA and how it makes things different towards me, but day-and-date PVOD releases as well as early PVOD releases like Universal's haven't really impacted legs as much as people might think, so I am thinking, at least at this point in time, that Widow will stabilize itself, especially considering how quiet the next few weeks seem to be. I could be wrong, but I am hopeful here at this point in time. Please don't yell at me over this.
  10. I've been tooting this horn the past two years. It's bonkers to me Golding's agents haven't pestered EON about this. Snake Eyes is literally the one trailer I've seen in front of every movie I watched this summer (aside from the local arthouse of course). Quiet Place, Cruella, Conjuring, Heights, Pig. Probably gonna be in front of Black Widow when I see it later today. It's one of the most ridiculous things I've seen in a long while when it comes to trailer attachments. For the record, Quiet Place 2 was the other movie that I got trailers for with just about every movie I saw, so maybe Paramount's onto something
  11. @RockyMountain @wildphantom Guys we already fought about this yesterday. It's clear you guys won't see eye to eye on this. I think it's fair to say we should probably take a hiatus on this argument because it's not going anywhere and it's getting exhausting to read through. @BK007 I'm also not a fan of your attitude and condescension amongst others here. There's ways to argue without being mean and talking about others and their "amateur takes" or "don't have to be a genius to see an issue". Play nice or you will see further consequences.

  15. Well...yeah. Wasn't the whole issue with Star Wars and its box office collapse come from the onslaught of Star Wars media? That Solo coming just months after Last Jedi was one of the issues that hurt it? That something that used to be special was no longer special? The MCU hasn't fallen into that pitfall yet but even you have to admit this series is not infallible. At least with three movies a year, there's still a solid gap of a few months to let people sit and focus on other things. WandaVision and F&WS were only like a week apart and you had to hear people talk about Marvel for four months straight. I'm a fan and I was getting exhausted by all this. And now they're planning like 4 or 5 shows a year, alongside 4 movies a year. That's damn near a new piece of MCU content a week! I think at least a few of even the most diehard MCU stans have to think that maybe this is a little too much. That maybe it'll become too tiring having to see so much from one franchise in just one year. That what was once special and exciting is just kind of an also-ran and no longer as engaging as it once was. And that has to impact viewership and box office at least a little bit. I'm not trying to say Disney shouldn't get rid of these shows. I get why they're doing it. But I think it's fair to argue there's at least a hint, just a smidge of potential dilution here, and I think cutting back on a few shows will help smooth things out. It's not like Disney+ is struggling to stay afloat or anything.
  16. Well then they shouldn't gun for that idea. It's okay to cut back on a show or two.
  17. Yeah they pretty much showed all the CG scenes and jokes in the trailers. Was kind of a pleasant little catfish all things considered
  18. Feel like Spongebob 2 counts if we consider Space Jam 2 2D. The CG stuff is only in the movie for like 15 minutes
  19. We just had a day-and-date movie premiere this weekend and did well. Deadline also said GvK is supposed to turn in a profit last time I checked
