  1. I respect the optimism here, and I'm sure my stuff is an outlier, but...I dunno, I remember NTTD starting to flounder at the same point in time here in Philly, while things seemed fine with the other trackers, only for it to open to lukewarm results. And when you consider the fact that Matrix is probably fan-driven in presales and Spider-Man is sucking up all the attention in multiplexes, both in gross and WOM, I just think we're in real trouble here. I really am wishing the best for Matrix, like I do with every movie, but I feel like my Philly sales shouldn't just be waved off just yet.

  5. I'm still bitter that out of all the Disney+ shows announced, we're still not getting anything in the Sequel Trilogy era. Mandalorian is fun, but it's just not enough. I just want to see Rey or Finn or Poe or Ben or whoever one more time. Okay, now I'm done with the off-topic stuff. Continue talking about EC's Sunday speculation.
  6. 4. IS OFF-TOPIC DISCUSSION OKAY? Off-topic discussions are okay in situations where there's downtime and there aren't any numbers. But when numbers are coming up and things are getting busy, then keep off-topic things down to the minimum.
  7. The characters are what truly made this such a lame experience. They had such an incredible cast, full of some of the most dynamic and memorable actors working today. But aside from K-2S0, I can't remember a single detail about any of them. Star Wars works as well as it does because the characters are so engaging and memorable and endearing (that's what helps a lot of the Sequel Trilogy's issues, just how fun and memorable the cast is), but Gareth Edwards just...forgot to write personalities for his cast? Still rooting for that Cassian Andor show though, because Diego Luna is wonderful and pure and deserves the world.
  8. Yeah pretty much. Every time I see people go "Rogue One is the best", I just don't get it. I mean the climax is cool, but everything else is just a snorefest.
  9. This isn't a mod warning btw. This was me trying to be funny with the whole "well my opinion is the one that truly matter,s so now we can end it". You can keep going if you want to, so long as you don't do anything stupid.
  10. And after I gave my hot take, I think now's the time to stop the ST/PT fighting. We all know it's gonna go to shit after all this. It's a silly fight anyways

  12. Okay maybe scrapping it is off the cards, but all the Letitia shit and the production delays just makes it seem like the movie's a nightmare right now (yes I know bad production doesn't mean a bad movie), and it's not like there's any loose ends at the Wakanda side of things. The first Black Panther ends on a good note, Wakanda has its king back after Endgame and all is happy there. I guess they were planning some big stuff with that Namor dude as the bad guy, but you could probably slot him as like the bad guy in Shang-Chi 2 or whoever.
  13. I'm assuming Wakanda Forever gets pushed back/scrapped completely, and in that case, I honestly think Love and Thunder will probably be the biggest Marvel movie next year. People love the guy after Ragnarok, Taika will have a lot of the fun vibes and energy retained, and the stuff with Guardians and Portman as Lady Thor seem like good enough hooks to spice things up. Doctor Strange is my favorite MCU character and I'm suuuuper hyped for Multiverse of Madness, but I'm still not wholly convinced he's big enough of a name, nor will the fun multiverse stuff be as strong of a hook like NWH had, despite some of the alleged cameos. Could be wrong of course and obviously marketing could change my mind just like that.
  14. Speaking of Sony franchises, and I know this is really off-topic, is it weird to anybody else that there's no traction on the next Jumanji movie? I know Dwayne's got 30 other projects coming out this week, but this feels like something that would be a top priority for all parties involved and I don't think this is a franchise that can handle a super long break between movies. Same also applies to Bad Boys 4. I get both of these projects were hit by COVID, but I would think now would be the time for fast tracking.
