So the only critic to see it was mixed on it and some of the other influencers seem to be into more for the messaging than the actual movie. 😬

McQuarrie is very woke. So I'm not sure why people think the movie is woke-free lmao
He's not "woke". He just believes in equality for all. There's a difference.- 1

Maybe Stuart was dragged, and did not want to go, but the group voted. Maybe Stuart had some money to spare and wanted to see if he was wrong. Maybe Stuart likes watching terrible movies.
Maybe Stuart likes hyperbole like everyone else online.

Who the hell goes in expecting a movie to be 2/10?
"Yes, I'd like to order the oysters I hear they're horrible" lol.

Temple of Doom > Raiders > Last Crusade > Crystal Skull >>> Dial of Destiny.
Crystal Skull is underrated.Dial was okay. The train was great minus the AI generated Indy which just felt off. Everything after Marrakesh was great as well. If they just lost most of Brooklyn and half of Marrakesh this movie could have been pretty damn good. There was too much going on in Brooklyn and Marrakesh.

IF this breaks out and does really well domestically Top Gun will have launched Tom Cruise's career twice. Not that it needed launching a second time but you know what I mean.

Part 2 is going to be an absolute action onslaught for 2.5 hours. The way Cruise talks about it is like he knows thats the movies he'll be remembered for. I've never seen him be so happy about a movie still in production, he must he really confident in it.

Once this guy gets to the US and starts selling the movie the lack of marketing wont matter

So is Maggie Alli from years back? Would just troll every Tom Cruise thread endlessly until an inevitable ban lol.

This is awesome. Hope people get the message. You can see multiple movies of different genres and not make it tribal.
They absolutely will not. Everything is tribal these days.

The problem is that it used to be hard for blockbuster action films to get acclaim and good scores, but in the last 15 years the critic spaces have opened up and become less formal. The MCU got nothing but fresh scores for over a decade for instance, whereas other franchises had to struggle to stay in fresh territory in the 2000s.
MCU movies did not deserve those reviews in my opinion. Critics want to be the ones who get asked to attended fancy screenings where they get free shit and they know that wont happen if they disappoint a big studio like Disney. If you're not the one giving the movie good reviews there are others at the publications who will.- 2

nothing to do with videogame culture, all to do with the increase in the number of critics and especially who those new critics are
Everything to do with Video game culture. It all started with video games getting 90% + reviews regularly. 80's for video games is considered mediocre. That mentality transferred over to movies.- 1

I'm old enough to remember when 65% RT was considered good. Now unless a movie is close to 90's people say it's trash and not worth watching. Some of the best movies from before the 2000's had 60-70RT scores. Video game culture has people brainwashed.

Every time Cruise has a new movie outs its the same thing. Tracking is underwhelming. This might disappoint etc and every time it ends up doing better than expected. His main demo is older, they don't pre-sale and they don't spend their lives on Twitter and reddit.
