Come harder, Oppy.

I will say it is funny how the multiverse has made everything happening in the MCU basically meaningless.

28M Friday for Barbie according to Charlie
Oh better. Maybe Oppy can make up more ground on Sat/Sun with the runtime, but hard to complain in either case.

Aw yeah was hoping Deadline would have it this time. Those weekdays were just too strong.
-
Really glad Oppy stayed over $10m.
I wonder if they had to fudge it lol.

So are TFA and Endgame the only other films with a full set of $20m+ weekdays? Not to jinx it.

Even more impressive. They maintained and build interest for 20+ films, when others cant even do for 7-8.
Potter had lost 30-35% admits from first part till last. Avatar is 30% down in 2nd part itself, could be down to less than half by the time 5th come.I wonder what percentage admissions The Marvels will be at compared to Endgame.

Don't see how Endgame's record still stands in 30 years unless theatrical just dies completely.

TGM being the first film since The Godfather to be #1 on both Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends is my fave fun fact from its run. It is a bit funny to see Tom brought back to earth though after US audiences didn't give A2 its full due.

May be a controversial opinion, but I prefer when the numbers go up and up.

Amazing! Wish $30m had not been out there though.

Are children not legally allowed to see 15-rated films in the UK with their parents?

I guess it's not so unexpected for female-driven movie in summer to see slight Saturday decrease from true Friday. Will be interested to see spillover effect on Sunday / weekdays and how things pan out next weekend.
With Oppenheimer having IMAX sellouts through the next few weeks that could afford it more of a cushion, although with the length and subject matter I'd imagine less repeat business there.

Hmm $160m hard for Barbie with that number?

Look, I know you live on this message board, but not everybody reads every post or comment. I come here MAYBE once a day. It is absurd to think that everybody sees your rules for everything at all times.
It is a little odd when calm discussions get jumped on.

Only for Hollywood.Local film is thrive.
Yes, but this is interesting. How much of it is underwhelming product, but still hard to imagine a comparable scenario happening so quickly in any other major market.
Do people cringe in retrospect at the Hollywood blockbusters they were going out to support before?

Avatar will still be most popular HLW series in China in future(Avengers take the 2nd place). But won’t have any record or any “Wow that’s insane” performance.
Time has changed ,believe it or not, less than 3 HLW movies will able to cross $100m every year after 2023.
We really done with Hollywood.
This kind of market downturn is remarkable. Blockbuster grosses in China are the fad that came and went.

What will SOF's DOM/INTL ratio end up being lol.

Someone explain to me why Asteroid City is doing worse than French Dispatch internationally right now
Does not surprise me that the subject matter of TFD would have more appeal abroad. Wonder if it has anything to do with release date as well.

Will be interested to see how SOF drops next week. Also I'm sure there has been some audience reduction, but I think I'll still give it to 24-25 to assess how much of this is people being tired of the product served up at the moment.

Was amused to see it looks like the first 10 days of showings at the Lincoln Square IMAX seem basically sold out.

How did this turn into a trainwreck.
Feels like Mario/Guardians have been the only good OS news so far this year.

Sad for China performance not good after the Whole world doing extremely well, maybe the era of Hollywood just end in China.
Need to consider it a new era with China consigned to increasing irrelevance for Hollywood again.

Hmm what is the precedent for other July mega-openers increasing only 10% on 2nd Saturday.
