With fox putting out juggernaut 2 and 3 and battle angel and cameron as the king of the world..,, Disney better be on guard of fox. they have lots of tentpoles. And any film epic with camerons name on it. Is a Destroyer of disney dominance
Even if those movies would do as much as you imply. That's still only one movie per year tops. That's nothing to be afraid of. If Cameron sticks to his Christmas release dates, then Disney is rather safe. Disney is busy claiming summer and November.

I really hope we'll see Mark Hamill in the Trickster role again. His dialogue was only 'meh' at times, but his acting was terrific.

I don't want a sequel. I want a prequel.

Not yet. If Disney's 2015 movie overkill will work, then they will. Releasing so many tentpoles has yet to prove itself.

Not in their current business model.

It doesn't look good, but it does look fun.

Good footage from a movie later >>> Bad footage from a movie early

That's what I've heard as well. Eastwood did the shooting, then left everything to Cooper. This isn't really a surprising next step for Cooper.

I think it's too late for Marvel to move Ant-Man, yet again.

"There's a movie coming out where 80's games attack the earth"
"OH MY GOD! LET ME CHECK OUT THE TRAILER so I can download that thing whenever it's out on vod!"

I feel like some really rich dude should invest the money so all the listed directors can make this movie and we can see how all those guys would pull it off.
Including; Nolan, Zemeckis, Wright, Spielberg, Vaughn, Jackson, Webb.
Six times 150m dollars, that's less than a billion. There must be someone who can muster up that money.

This looks horrible. This also looks like it's going to have legs.

I always imagined a The Lion King live-action...
I never thought it would happen because of the animals....
But apparently it wasn't a problem for Dumbo.
While I'm in favor of these live-action remakes, I really hope they stay away from the Lion King.

Gravity, Inception, and Interstellar didn't have even a fraction of the success and pop culture saturation of Avatar. And whether haters want to admit it or not, Avatar had characters that audiences loved. Sure, this post will totally get a bunch of "Please! Nobody cares about Avatar's characters!!" responses, but guess what? I, like millions others, enjoyed the film because we rooted for Neytiri and Jake. Of course, detractors will never admit to it because they can't attack the movie on any other front. All they have to go on with is the inaccurate "nobody cares about the characters" chant. However, an action/fantasy film won't do close to 3 billion dollars if audiences don't care about what the characters go through. Sorry, haters!
My post was about what made people go to theaters. I bet you did not go to the theater because you heard Avatar had really intricate characters with a beautiful story that will make you root for them. Everyone went to Avatar because it was one of those in-theater experiences.
Over the past years, there has always been room for an 'original' effects spectacle in theaters. Avatar 2 will be a sequel to, and it won't come of as a unique experience like the first one did.

Both movies should be named The Jungle Book! The first one that comes out automatically wins!
That wasn't really the case for Hercules in 2014, though. although their names differed a bit.

Good thing theyre not catering to your wants. The general public wants Minions being Minions, and thats what we're gonna get. Basic economics = stick to what you know. McDonads making pizza? Bad idea. MTV making conservative programming? Bad idea. Pixar making adult westerns? Bad idea. You stick to what works. The minions acting like Minions is the golden formula. Stray away from that and people wont be pleased. Its looks like Illumination will be giving us that, so this will be a success. And since the Minions are the defacto main characters of DM, this will be an even bigger success than it should be.
The problem with your statements is that GA don't know about filmmaking or storytelling. A movie where your main characters have no character beyond that of a retarded toddler, will need a very very good story to compromise. Otherwise the movie will have you leave the theater with a sour taste. That kind of trope may work for an animated tv-series where the episodes aren't longer than 20 minutes, but for a one-and-a-half hour movie, that's very unsatisfying.

trailer has leaked online;
'From the director of Harry Potter 1&2, Home Alone, Percy Jackson, Mrs. Doubtfire and 'I Love You, Beth Cooper' comes; an Adam Sandler Sci-Fi comedy featuring the guy from King of Queens, Olaf from Frozen and that little person from Game of Thrones'
interesting.

I think the ultimate troll would be for this movie to get delayed every year leaving this thread in an eternal debate cycle for a movie always in pre-production but never actually made.
James Cameron doesn't play by Box Office rules. His whole videography is one gigantic troll on BO enthusiasts.

Trademark on the Jungle Book name is with the book, which I'm pretty sure is public property. That would mean Disney can't make them change the title, although I'd suggest them to do that either way.

Who the fuck greenlit this?

Eh, The Hunger Games made $690m off a $78m budget.
Relatively, that's less. ROI for Maze runner would be 10-1 ROI for Hunger Games would be 8.8-1

I guess I lost my points on Focus. I think we have a bigger chance of hell freezing over than that Focus will hit 100m.
Hopefully Chappie (with it's horrible OW) will get me those points back.
THE Incredibles 2 | June 15, 2018 | NO SPOILERS!!!!

I really hope they do the same as Toy Story 3 and HTTYD2, and start this story 5-13 years from the first one. I really want to know what's happened to these characters over the years.
For example, they could open with the Incredibles taking on the underminer. Then an opening-credits montage shows what happens to the characters over the years in a weird form of exposition and then the story starts.
On the other hand, we have Brad Bird. I'm fine with whatever he does. I'd watch this even if he left out the superpowers.
