  1. Yeah, I think US$75M would be a great result. This from BoxOfficeMexico, although they like to round up numbers: Quick translation: Avengers on track to become first movie to reach MX$1.000M in the Mexican box office. That's about US$65M at e.r=15.3.
  2. Ay, forgot Iron Man: Iron Man 5,272,729 19,728,577 3.74 So average is up a bit, but you get the idea
  3. Got all the multiplier of the Marvel Universe films, these are the scenarios for TA2: TA 17,439,946 61,748,523 3.54 CA2 8,596,889 25,720,282 2.99 GOG 6,747,444 19,648,542 2.91 Thor2 8,256,931 23,857,540 2.89 IM3 17,067,467 48,566,365 2.85 Hulk 4,437,954 12,168,610 2.74 Thor2 7,201,607 19,547,866 2.71 IM2 7,076,229 18,396,680 2.60 CA 8,089,424 20,224,903 2.50 2.86 TA2 High 25,500,000 90,270,000 3.54 Average 25,500,000 72,930,000 2.86 Low 25,500,000 63,750,000 2.50
  4. Thanks Henry. Do reports usually use the exchange rate from OD? With a 15.3 rate: TA2 Opening Thu Gross: MX$102,621,521 --> US$6.7M Audience: 1,915,472 Fri-Sun Gross: MX$288,827,214 --> US$18.9M Aud: 5,282,326 Total Gross: MX$392,747,582 --> US$25.6M Aud: 7,220,522 FF2 Total Gross:$761,048,095 --> US$49.7M (!) Weekend was just 600K, TA2 literally obliterated it from the theatres... Aud: 15,073,308 Other milestones: Home reaches 4M audience - 4,013,040 - and $US11.4M. Run All Night reaches 1M audience - 1,054,660 - and $US3.4M
  5. It should, in theory, hope it doesn't get affected by the front-loaded blockbuster phenomenon. We'll know more once the actual OW/week numbers are out this Friday. Top 10 BoxOffice - Weekend 1-3 May 1. Avengers 2 2. FF7 3. Paul Blart 2 4. Home 5. Run All Night 6. Mortdecai 7. Longest Trip 8. La Sal de la Tierra 9. Guardianes de Oz 10. 5 to 7
  6. New cum for FF7 is US$50.5M so a US$1M weekend. Don't think it'll reach 55 unless exchange rate goes below 15. So what's the limit for TA2? Using TT7 multiplier adds up to US$60M....
  7. A new record! The numbers un pesos should be massive. Although jt looks Sat/Sun grossed less than Thu/Fri, it'll be interesting to see how it holds. Admissions should be on the 8M vicinity. In only one weekend, Mexico became the 5th OS market.
  8. $187.7M opening wknd for #AvengersAgeOfUltron. #2 all-time but 10% behind 2012 #Avengers. Global rises to $626.7M.
  9. Peso exchange currency is 4% down compared with last weekend. Despite that, BoxOfficeMexico is predicting OW of US$28M and audience close to 10M!
  10. This account usually rounds up the numbers a lot. In any case, audience of about 4.5 milion in 2 days is insane!
  11. So US$7.2 on Friday, about 15% of the total OS Friday. That's def the first time there's been a daily 2M+ audience and probably the biggest grossing day ever ... unless Sat or Sun go even higher.
  12. @BoxOffice: AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON added $53M overseas on Friday, giving it a global cume of $425M entering Saturday. #Avengers #AgeOfUltron
  13. ‏I know this is US but may be handy for the WW estimates. @giteshpandya Disney just now stating it expects #AvengersAgeOfUltron to top $200M this wknd. Says record is "in sight." #Avengers
  14. OD numbers (Thu 30 Apr) for TA2 in Mexico: Audience: 1,915,472 Gross: MX$102,621,521 -> US$6.75M (exchange rate = 15.2) First movie to gross more than a hundred million pesos in opening day!
  15. Fast and Furious 7 GROSS This Week. MX$41,014,374 --> $2.7M Cum: MX$751,580,344 ---> $49.5M, so close to 50! AUDIENCE This Week: 859,570 Gross: 14,867,485 Home getting close to 4M audience. Rest of the Top 10 for week of Apr 24-30 here - http://canacine.org.mx/taquilla/
  16. We have exact OD numbers for TA2: Audience: 1,915,472 Gross: MX$102,621,521 -> US$6.75M (exchange rate = 15.2) FIrst movie to gross more than a hundred million pesos in opening day!
  17. Is there any thread in this forum with info of biggest OW (audience/gross) in a single country (outside China)? Want to have the info handy in case TA2 gets close to 10M/$30M.
  18. I suppose the biggest, previous OD audience would be FF7 with 1.6M admissions. Its average ticket price was $3.36.
  19. Using FF7 multiplier, TA2's OW would be $25.4M. It'd be the 33rd highest grossing movie ever after just 4 days. But I think it will be higher because of Labour Day holiday today and the sheer amount of theatres showing it. Henry - yesterday was sort of a holiday, Children's Day, lots of families would have attended.
  20. Totally forgot that today is Children's Day in Mexico! Extra boost for Thursday, TA2 is allegedly opening on every single cinema in the country ... Disney couldn't have picked a better 4-day weekend. Mexico is the biggest OS market for Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, more than 1.2M audience Interesting Box Office blog (in Spanish): http://boxofficemx.blogspot.mx/
  21. It's a given TA2 will be the #2 movie by Sunday, heck even before that ... Friday is a bank holiday in Mexico so sky is the limit! Does anyone have the OW daily stats for FF7? Did it do about $7M per day? TA2 will need an 4-day OW of over $35M ($8.75M per day, a high threshold) to possibly become the #1 movie by next Thursday. FF7 is going to drop a lot and may get stuck in the $50-52M total. Probably @boxofficemexico are being too optimistic, but you never know...
  22. Movie opens today These are the tweets in question (in Spanish, to the dismay of RDJ): @BoxOfficeMexico 16h16 hours ago Para el domingo @Avengers será la segunda película más taquillera del año y la primera para el jueves. BoxOfficeMéxico ‏@BoxOfficeMexico 16h16 hours ago Se espera que @Avengers debute en primer lugar de la taquilla mexicana rompiendo récord histórico.
  23. Massive numbers expected for TA2, @boxofficemexico posted on Twitter that it may have the biggest OW, #2 movie of the year by Saturday and the #1 by Thursday (!) Not sure how reliable this account is, but from what I've read online, pre-sales are humongous.
