good or bad for mi5??

$ wise i doubt MI:RN can beat GP OW coz dollar rate was
1usd=Rs.50-51 in 2011
1usd=Rs63.74 as of today
GP OW numbers of 263 million Rupees today is about $4.13million
But still i have hopes coz theres a huge turnaround today presales was amazing all over also dubbed versions must have shown growth

I know fake has some formula for net vs gross. Will it gross 15m with this opening?
But its only friday fig.....wednesday it had imax previews and thursday a full fledged release down south
-
WoM for MI:RN is good in India but seems to be mixed in positive terms....some say this is the best in series while others say GP was the best though this comes 2nd!!
-
You mean in its 3rd week? Not really, but unless it has great drops, Paper Towns or Southpaw will overtake it, even if they have debuts in the range of 15.000 adm.
Hows the WoM for MI:RN it seems to have less competition for next 2 weeks ??
-
Day 1 fig which is thursday where it dint have a uniform release all over india is around 4-5cr(700K+).....few places it released on thursay while others on friday saturated release....day 2 estimates are around 8-9cr(approx $1.25m)
Its probably 5th or 6th highest opener in india
Boxofficeindia main tracker hasnt updated day 1 fig coz MI5 had previews in IMAX screens on wednesday and thursday it had a full fledged release down south while rest of india it was on friday mostly

WEEKEND BOX-OFFICE
Last weekend was a rather slow one, with MI5 debuting rather disappointing.
- Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation opened to 41.181 admissions and 207k. That is a bit bigger than the last enttry in the franchise in adm (37.500) and the exact same in USD (thanks to the exchange rates). And while is the biggest opening for the series, it is still disappointing considering the explosion most sequels get here. MI4 opened during Christmas and ended up with a great $820k, a result that MI5 won't reach easily.
- In its 4th outing, Minions eased a light 26% and the total is now an incredible $1.49m (and 313.051 admissions). It already passed 'Fifty Shades of Grey' to become the second highest grossing movie of the year and it looks to end up with around $1.8-1.9m.
- Ant-Man was down 38% in it's 3rd weekend and the cume is $404k.
- Pixels fell 51% from it's debut frame and now stands at a weak $150k.
- And in 9th, Jurassic World finally passed the $1.2m border.
This week's openers:
- The Fantastic Four
- Self/less
- The Gift
I expect a really weak debut for the newest entry in the FF4 franchise, for two reasons: 1. the series isn't popular here; 2. the main theatre chain apparently won't show it. So opening in the 15.000 adm area would be really good for it.
Self/less should also consider itself lucky to sell the same amount of tickets.
And The Gift - under 10.000 adm.
So MI5 gonna top another weekend ???

How much GP did business in India..$10m?
Boxofficeindia said it grossed 35crs which sums upto ($7m) other websites say 5m OW various websites say diff figs
Im sure it would have done close to 10m for sure it held well for 3-4 weeks in major cities
-
If Ted 2 makes half of what the first Ted made in the remaining countries it'll be at about $235m worldwide. My guess is it'll probably end up around 200-215.
Japan could do 10m i guess....the last one did really well and had amazing legs

MI5 presales are good all over south india many centers registering Housefulls from the morning shows....Hyderabad has taken a hit coz a local biggie released yesterday but its still doing really well for a 2nd spot, Chennai is fab all the plexes are full with many playing MI5 in biggest screens, Bangalore too picked up morning shows have been more than 60% some registering fulls shows after 1-2pm are mostly full
Bangalore IMAX 5/5 fulls presales are very good for tomorrow as well!
Mumbai IMAX(3 THEATERS) 15 shows expecting 8-9 fulls based on presales as of now may increase in evening.
Rest of India it has shown good growth in all the centers yesterday morng shows were avg today its 70-80%..Among dubbed versions it was released in 3 languages Telugu Tamil and Hindi.... Telugu version of MI5 has taken a hit due to release of local biggie(Srimanthudu) in telugu speaking states while tamil verion of mi5 has done well a prominent multiplex in chennai has given 2 shows in its biggest screen both the shows were Housefull by presales mostly....No idea about Hindi version of MI...no competition should have opened well

Hows the WoM for MI5 can it sustain for few weeks and put up a good total??
-
Mexico OD (Thu): MX$15,435,285 (about US$950K), 325K audience.
looks decent right??
-
Yup. I have sunday bumping 10-30%, depending on genre
So JW heading for $6m weekend and MI5 $4.5m
-
Can MI:RN top this week in UK FF4 looks like a bomb!
-
December 2011 31.8 RUB per USD
August 2015 62.7 RUB per USD
I think beating MI4 gross is out of question.
It might increase by 60-70% in RUB but that will be not enough.
How come EoT did well here....i thought MI5 will be TC highest grosser in Russia....MI not popular in russia???
-
These are the numbers of the 4 previous films:
MI: 3,141,962 admissions - 9,997,005 €
MI2: 3,372,446 adm - 13,246,773 €
MI3: 1,324,539 adm - 7,058,955 €
MI4: 1,111,242 adm - 7,154,032 €
The two first parts figures were done in a period when people use to go much more to cinemas than now. You should expect similar numbers to parts 3 and 4.
thanks i was expecting u would say less than 10m coz cruise movies havent touched 10m mark in spain for some time now. Oblivion seems to be his highest in recent times with 8m+
-
estimate for MI5 in spain???
-
Gross in Russian roubles. 1 USD = 62.7 RUB
So MI5 had around $742k OD. Probably will be a bit better with official numbers.
Better start than MI4 had in 2011 but still below expectations. As you can see there is nothing else to watch in our theaters.
hmm so MI5 gross till date incl previews
-
Im sorry guys i dont have any figs for MI5....i can give updates about its occupancies down south(india). If i get any figs i will share it
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION | 487.7 M overseas ● 682.7 M worldwide

Presales have been amazing all over and most of the cities have recorded fulls...Bangalore has been exceptional most of the plexes are full though in few plexes presales are low for night shows which is quite common since tomorrow is a working day....Hyderabad and chennai plexes most of them are full including night shows.GREAT. So expecting good growth in south india and bigger growth in north india coz it opened bit lower saturday n sunday was fab all over!
IMAX Update: Bangalore 5/5 fulls
Mumbai special 9am shows in all 3 imax theaters 18 shows total 8-9 fulls night shows presales are low
My estimates:
Wednesday(oly imax release) - 10-15Lakhs
Thursday (south release oly ) - 3-4crores
Friday wde release all over - 9cr
Saturday - 12cr
Sunday - 13-14cr
OW from india would be around $6 million
Good increase in local currency MI4 grossed 26cr in lc 2011
MI5 grossed 34-36cr 2015.....same gross for 2011 currency would have been $6.8-$7.2million
