Hoping Vacation can reach Miller numbers. I know my whole family is planning on going Tuesday night. I'm hoping for a 35 million 5 day.Preview showtimes in OC for the openers:
- Vacation with 75 showtimes 2 days prior to release
- Rogue Nation with 73 showtimes 4 days prior
Baselines for 2 days prior to opening: Pixels 102 (it actually reduced the day of release and ended with 88 - kind of unprecedented), Southpaw with 62, Paper Towns with 57. For 1 day prior to opening: Terminator + Magic Mike 156, Ant-Man 142, Trainwreck 75, Minions 227. No baselines for 4 days prior.
Looks like Vacation may do around 2M to 2.5M if showtime escalation continues. Would compare favorably to We Are The Millers which made 1.7M Tuesday previews.
Rogue Nation looking to do around 5-6M if showtimes increase as expected.

. Isn't that what happened with TFIOS?Yeah but preview showings with $20 tickets might skew the preview number a little high.
-
. As long as Pixels is below it and Ant-Man this weekend I'm satisfied.Paper Towns is gonna do fine. 30M and win the weekend.
-
I'm hoping this weekend in general isn't affected due to this. I know it's not as big as TDKR but some people might still feel weird about going.Really hope the shooting doesn't affect TW's run.
Again though, condolences to the victims and families of those in the shooting.

I loved her in True Detective, Source Code, MI 3, and Eagle Eye. Hate to see her in roles like this and The Best of Me.Oh and Michelle Monaghan...you deserved...so much better.

I heard the ending was that Jill was actually dead and everyone was playing along with Jack's delusion of her. Is that true? I never saw it.
That probably came from this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOzrgw70cyc

First 4 reviews on RT are fresh. Off to a good start. Really wasn't expecting much from this but if the reviews stay this good I might check it out.

Sad that this is their big summer movie.Sony is a dumb studio. They had a golden concept in their hands and they decide to give it to Sandler. Lol.
-
Maybe Sandler should stick with Netflix.

Numbers aren't really that surprising. Went to see Ant-Man for the second time with some friends at a 7:20 showing and along with Jurassic World it was probably the most packed I've seen that theatre on a Tuesday night.
-
I've enjoyed her since Arrested Development and her role in Cursed which was probably one of the best things about that movie.
-
Finally got to see Ant-Man tonight. I thought it was pretty good. I'd put it in my top 4 MCU movies. The theatre was about half full and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Everyone stayed for the first credit scene but only me and 4 other people stayed for the second scene. I guess they were fooled by Ultron. There was a couple in front of me that were looking back telling me they wanted to see how many people stayed. I could tell right away the second scene was actually a scene from Civil War due to the aspect ratio change.
-
I'm looking forward to all of those including the Jurassic World sequel and Furious 8.I can't wait for Civil War, Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, etc.
Do people really anticipate whatever gimmick they come up with for the Jurassic World sequel or Furious 8.
Not really.

Don't feel bad I actually have 4 copies. The original release, the steelbook, the 5 film Nolan collection, and The Dark Knight Trilogy.I didn't buy it every time...I just 'acquired' 3 copies.
(Normal copy, steelbook, got another copy while I was in DC and missing my normal copy at home)

Ant-Man is now up to 80% on RT. Now in the top 5 MCU movies on the site.

I enjoyed Knocked Up more but This is 40 was good too. The only problem I had was it seemed to drag in certain spots due to the length. A common problem in Apatow's movies. This is 40 is the only Apatow film I've ever seen but I really like that one (its not that funny but I liked the characters and was invested in the story)

I know that Dory won't best Nemo just seeing characters I enjoyed again has me curious. I was the same way with Toy Story 3 and was pleasantly surprised. Inside Out's reception has me curious to check it out but there's so much I want to see this summer I can wait to redbox it.This is probably the difference between animation fans and non.
I'm not looking forward to two obvious cash grabs but the general public loves their franchises.
Personally think Dory will not best Nemo. Just way too long after and Nemo does not need or scream or warrant a sequel, especially the kind that they have decided to make.
I'm looking forward to Good Dinosaur with renewed faith and really want to see Zootopia in the hopes of intelligent films. Panda 3 also looks pretty stunning.

The first Despicable Me was the last animated movie I seen in theaters. I found it alright but I have never got around to watching the 2nd. I may eventually catch it and Minions when they're on TV. Not much of an animated movie person anymore. That may change with Finding Dory and Toy Story 4.

To add to that one of the drive ins near me is playing IO with Monkey Kingdom. The other two are playing combos you mentioned.Minions + TG playing in some locations ,there's all sort of combos believe it or not even Minions+Jp4+Ted2
Minions +TG, Minions+IO, Minions+JP4, JP4+TG, MM2 + Gallows,JP4+Max, TG+Ted2, Gallows + SA
and the list goes on
-
. Now one positive. Warner Bros conspiracy ?There where 2 negative reviews for this on Rotten Tomatoes this morning and now they have just vanished!
-
Kinda disappointed mine is playing JW with Ted 2 instead. If my local drive-in pairs Minions up with JW on Friday I'll be seeing it.
-
While I enjoyed Ted 2 I think that both Ted and MM should have remained one movie. Both had a novelty that's now gone. I'm still surprised Hangover 2 did as well as it did.

Can someone explains how The Marked Ones is a spinoff ? To me it could easily pass as PA 5.
