Sadly, I disagree. While the first THG was not bad at all, I was more excited while watching TMR1.
For most part, MR1 was a true masterpiece. But the ending was awful

Serious...... CF works perfectly well as an own movie, the only thing missing is the ending, but that's acceptable since it's the middle of the franchise, but MR2 do not have a plot, it's just action non stop
You know everything that happens in CF is unnecessary and the whole story is just an excuse to sell books and tickets
They could have jumped from the end of THG to the beginning of Mockingjay

How is it compared with the first one?
It was entertaining. I have a problem with these recent YA sequels because it doesn't have a story of its own, and MR2 is basically the characters going from one place to another. But I had fun watching and I have no doubt fans of the series will love it.
I still prefer the first movie because the maze was very intriguing.-
