Lets be real here: is this really going to ever come out? My guess would be yes...but in 2032.
True. Why retire at 60 when you can retire at 77?
-
I don't know what you mean? You assume VIII (I guess that is what movie you mean) is opening in December and there has been no indication.
That's why he said "if" it happens.
-
Yeah if this were a publicity stunt it'd literally be the worst publicity stunt in history. Increased awareness for this movie but turned their studio into a laughingstock
Sometimes publicity stunts don't work as planned.

The 2017 June calendar is a joke, right ? Right ?
Something will move obviously, it s retarted to have such big sequels in the same month, Dragons 3, despicable me 3 and toy story 4, really ?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure a lot will move. No way they release 3 animated features, a DC movie, and the Lego sequel all within 5 weekends of each other.
I don't see Toy Story moving from that prime date. DM3 might move a week or two into early July, like its previous films.
Fox, with the sub-par domestic performance of Dragon, won't have any leverage and will probably have to move Dragon 3 to late July or August, which would force their Untitled Animation (on July 21st) to move to the Fall, possibly to Black Panther's date.

Absolutely awful precedent and incredibly cowardly act by Sony AND movie chains. Way to ruin the hard work of thousands to appease threats of terrorism from one of the world's most oppressive, human-rights violating regimes. As someone who is an actor just for fun, I can only imagine how people who do it for a living feel- an implicit message that our hard work, cultural connections, and freedom of expression pales in comparison to bullshit threats. I'm fucking pissed, man. Stupid.
I don't even care for the movie or Seth Rogen, and I agree with this wholeheartedly. Let's just all live in caves now to be safe, right?

I thought Wright's films were fun, but nothing of his screams blockbuster material. Hope he proves me wrong.

Well, got a month left to keep updating:
1) Avengers: Age of Ultron - $660M
2) Star Wars Episode VII - $550M
3) Mocking Jay Part 2 - $340M
4) Minions - $300M
5) Fast 7 - $280M
6) Bond 24 - $270M
7) Jurassic World - $260M
8) Ant-Man - $240M
9) Cinderella - $220M
10) Inside Out - $220M
-
That said, Hobbit will win, hands down.
-
I think Fast 6 was kinda of the ceiling for the franchise. Don 't think Paul's unfortunate demise will boost the ww total that much.
His death alone won't make much of a difference, but because of it, I think Universal wants to push the marketing for this like crazy. So it could make a big difference indirectly.

Wow, $30M spent before production even started? On a biopic, no less? It probably has to make at least $100M to break even. Maybe they should sell ipads at the theaters.

Something wrong with the title. Interstellar $21-23M weekend and Big Hero 6 $15-17M weekend?
- 1
-
Yes, but I was strictly talking about films that would reach $1B
Oh, whoops! Icic..
-
Oh man, I forgot PotC5 for summer 2017. That stands a good chance at hitting $1B. Holy fucking shit for Disney.
Thor 3 and Black Panther can gobble up at least $1.5B, very likely more.
-
That 2017 movie slate. Especially in the Summer.
-
Wait, what? They're doing another Steve Jobs movie right after the original one JUST came out and flopped??? Is Hollywood planning to reboot The Lone Ranger then?

I haven't heard any buzz for this at all. Seemingly overshadowed by Interstellar.
The families will come out to see it anyway, but I feel like it doesn't have that extra push to generate more income.
-
St. James Place? Meh, I'll wait for Baltic Ave. or Water Works, the movie.
The eventual team up movie should be called Monopoly: Dawn of Passing Go.

WTF?really how can you make a movie off this?
Like this:

Oh, and WFRR should have at least made the top 10.

They just don't make villains anymore like they used to. Sigh.Roger Rabbit is AMAZING. It still blows my mind today. And this freaked me out as a kid: http://youtu.be/MSTL3AidX4o

Sony is already destroying Spiderman. Is only a matter of time before they beg Marvel to buy Spidey.
Yeah, didn't they already sell their Spider-man merchandise rights to Disney? Let the dominoes fall...

Expendables 4 won't happen. Franchise is dead
The franchise "belongs in a museum."
