The string of saliva bothering anyone else in that pic? lol, my eyes went right to it. What's wrong with me? That's all I see now.

Yes, it was more tongue in cheek than anything. Re-reading my post, I see I could have made it more obvious. I was curious to hear the opinions on God's Not Dead as well. Never heard of it, but that usually says a lot about the quality and odds of it doing well right there. I don't watch those kinds of movies or hang out with people that do, so it could have easily flown under my radar.

Do I expect it, no. Ruling it out, no. Do I deep down wish it does? yes, lol. I know nothing about the first one. Was it good? Did it have good WOM and made a big following? The fact that it released with 780 theaters and was eventually bumped up to 1860 in week 4 and the fact this looks like it's releasing at 2300+ says something.

I'm not ruling out God's Not Dead 2 winning this weekend. Much bigger release than the first one it looks like, 780 vs 2300+. Not my type of movie, so I know nothing about it. Meet the Blacks is huge a long shot, but people may need a comedy to get them out of the depression that BvS gave them.
I would be shocked if Hardcore Henry (actually really interested in seeing this, just for it's uniqueness) or The Boss doesn't take 1st place.

Just to make things clear. Rth has been going by issue number. I've seen too many people think it's something else.

The Lego Movie was hilarious. SPACESHIP!!! If this movie is as good as that one, it will make bank.
We just need a Where Are My Pants movie next.

If it wasn't 12, I'm sure Rth would have corrected us.

wow the trolls lol. please do tell why 12 million is bad on a freakin normal weekday with school and work ?
I'll see if I can find the article, but I remember reading somewhere that 40% of schools in the US were on spring break this week. I know the ones around me are.

Two big school districts by me, Twin Cities MN, are off this week. Part of last week as well.

15 million would be around 55.4% drop so would be modeling around Fast 7 then.
Better than FF7 since it had a 57.7% drop.

This reminds me, has everyone see "Hitler reacts to Batman v Superman reviews"? It's been awhile since I've seen one of these and this is one of the best.
That was awesome.

If I had my way, it would be something like $11.83 (-65%) but I'm assuming the bad WOM, if there will be any, hasn't kicked in yet and going with $14.19
-
Guessing $14.19 for a 58% drop.

I realize that BvS has a lower cinemascore, but being as there is no way to quantify that into dollar amounts I decided to just look at the hard numbers. Especially since GI (A-) and FF7 (A) are both higher. GI has a RT score of 28% that is similar to BvS's 29%, but both way off of FF7's 81%. Looking at the numbers, I still think 2.4 is a good multiplier match for BvS.
Ignoring the numbers, I personally think that BvS will be under Deadpool domestically. I just don't have any evidence or statistics to back that up at the moment. Just based off a gut feeling and the fact I hated MoS. I'm a huge Superman fan, he's my favorite superhero, but I almost walked out of that movie. Never had the urge to do that before or since. Have no plans on seeing BvS or any other DCU movies due to that experience. Which is a shame since the DC TV shows and cartoons have always been awesome. Especially The Flash and the cartoons; Batman: The Animated Series, Superman and Justice League.

It's dumb though. No other superhero movie has opened on Good Friday, meaning the comparison is absolutely pointless.
It's impossible to compare apples to apples with any movies. The only way you could, is if they were release at the same time.
With that in mind, we need to do the best we can. I've looked through movies opening on Good Friday back to 1999. Only two movies come close to superhero movies. They aren't superheroes, but I would definitely consider them hero movies. G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Fast and Furious 7.
GI dropped about 62% from Friday to Sunday.
FF7 dropped about 51% from Friday to Sunday.
Both movies coincidentally have approximately the same multiplier of 2.4. This would put BvS at $398.4
