Feel like this chart is missing production cost

Just 2016 releases. Without 2015 releases that grossed money in 2016 and no re-releases or limited release.

Disney: 1.78 billion dollars. X4 Every dollar invested
Warner Bros.: 1.29 billion dollars. X4 Every dollar invested
Fox: 1.2 billion dollars. X3.75 Every dollar invested
Paramount: 916 million dollars. X1.8 Every dollar invested
Sony: 860 million dollars. X2.4 Every dollar invested
Universal: 835 million dollars. X3.9 Every dollar invested

    about 1.

Those willing to pay per VOD or... will pay for it later on too (depends on when later on is), they only further the amount of people not going to the cinemas.

A lot of people like to go to the cinemas, but not early in, as a lot of people do not like the loudnes,... of a full(ish) room.

If it is too early, they will loose a lot of audience to convenience. Imagine 1 times payed for the family against 4 tickets too, also a IMHO considerable part of the BO is per repeat viewing, dragging friends with them and similar combinations. They will loose a lot of those too.

either I do not understand or you didn't understand my post.

I'd like to know why B's films are leading in getting pirated, as you told. There has to be a difference to other distributors, if correct.

Maybe provide a link, so I can read for myself and maybe find the detail I am looking for?

And in this instance they'll be even more pirated. Imagine having the movie online after two weeks. It would leak on the web immediately, just like all tv shows.

    Bad idea

But they don't care about the people who pirate. They care about the untapped potential in people who skip theater or go to the theater once or twice a year and then will catch the movie on streaming or TV for a lower price.

I'd like to know the whys.

Ratings? Not enough 2D? Too specialised genres (difficult to find a friend to accompany...) Or...?

IMHO it is the worst idea they ever had in the long run = in the POV of cinemas (how long will they get a share to compensate?), it will further the frontloadness = and as such bad for smaller films, I think those will get drowned even more, and for the people loving to see a film in a cinema still.

It might even impact on what a film will show, like huge panorama,... wont be as impacting at home, might get reduced in film-making in the long run.

It's all about the costumer. Nobody in the studios care about the film making aspect.
