To put the supposed $40m World Wide P&A spend in perspective - as  of March 31, so not including the last week push the TV ad spend for Shazam! is at an estimated $21.66m.    That's just below WW's ($23.59M) after the w/e it came. Shazam's total after this w/e should be around $26-28m.   Other recent CBM comps for the w/e after release -  AIW ($20.86m) and CM ($34.43m) . None of these movies had a $40m WW P&A budget.  TV ad spend is just a part of P&A expenses.

Mark Hughes trying to get a meeting with an exec to pitch his - probably - shitty scripts. What's new? Saying Shazam! had a $40M marketing budget is embarrassing. End of the day Shazam! will gross less than f'ng Rampage. They can't shill that when end of the year summaries come

So..... does that mean that it'll pull a 7-1 loss if it makes sub-200M? :P (I don't think it'll come sub 200, but I don't see much higher than Jurassic World numbers either tbh... I really don't think it has much of a hook, and it'll only pull 200 exclusively cause it's Star Wars and that brand alone is enough to cause mass hysteria).

It'll be at #2 on OW alone ;) Sadly for those who prefer IW to BP quality-wise (I think I liked BP a little more, but I enjoyed the fucking hell out of IW), it'll probably peak at #2, as I don't see it beating BP even with the record breaking OW. But I've seen stranger things, so..... yeah.

WOM and announcement that it broke the record for most money on OW will push IW over BP, I think.

Not sure why I was tagged in this thread, but Justice League isn't touching $500m and making it to $400m isn't going to be easy either.

It won't get the screens or have the room to run to get to that level.  It is also a lot more bro'ish and still a heavy Zack Snyder production and won't draw the entire Wonder Woman crowd.

Has to also compete with a whole lot of other movies for space.  Thor is going to hold screens.  Bad Moms will still be kicking along.  Daddy's Home 2.  Murder on the Orient Express.  Wonder and Coco.  The Star.  Molly's Game.  A host of limited Oscar movies expanding.  It will be virtually dead in the the water by Dec. 15th when Star Wars takes over everything.

    Someone was right..

#JusticeLeagueJusticeLeague_JL.png will be losing 59% of its theaters this FRI as many new films gobble up screens for the long #ChristmasHolidays_2017_Christmas.png wknd. New count will be 1101 dropping below #ThorRagnarokThorRagnarok_Thor.png which will be in 1573 despite being an older film. Domestic totals now $220.9M and $307.6M.

TBH with Star Wars I never expected WB to get that close to top studio, but IT and WW really helped.

WB released 17 movies. Disney with 7.  If Anything, they should have been much closer to taking the top spot. Now it'll be a 400m difference.
