  1. I'm glad people could enjoy Sully. I went into this film believing that Sully was a hero. I was not aware that he wasn't a hero until he vanquished his enemies at the final NTSB inquiry. Or at least that's what this film would like us all to believe. This film lost me almost immediately with the representation of the NTSB as the "bad guys." I want to know one thing about the NTSB, as presented in this film: What exactly did Sully do wrong? The absolute anger and argumentative attitudes instantly presented by the board against Sully, within the first 10 minutes of the film, without being given any information of how the flight went down, puts Sully in a position to prove something that doesn't need to proven. And finally we hear that it is the "human factor" that was not being assessed during this process? That is some contrived drama built up specifically to make this film "work." After what I've heard after seeing this film, that was most assuredly falsely presented. So I have to ask: what did Sully do wrong? I can guarantee that the NTSB most definitely acknowledges the human factor when investigating incidents such as this. And, man, I rolled my eyes at the last minute pulling out of a "comprehensive report" which looked to be about 100 pages, of the left engine which spectacularly just arrived, without anyone knowing. Couple that with the whole "17 practice runs. They had 17 practice runs" and you can see how contrived the entire drama of the film is. Sully is a hero. End of story. This film did not need to manufacture drama to work. It could have focused more on Sully's PTSD issues, and his attempts as a man doing his job being thrust into the national spotlight. I gave the film a D, and it was saved an F because of Tom Hanks' performance.
