wow Academy ....

the man's track record isn't that big honestly , the only good Nolan movies were TDK and Inception , Inception received a lot of love and TDK was a superhero movie and those don't get any
I personally think Nolan is a mediocre version of Villeneuve

the guy is running out of storage space

more like " stone won the oscar "

Ali lost some significant ones but won the SAG

Kubo IS overrated IMO

Golden Globes don't crossover with the Oscars though, so I still fail to see how there's actually a connection there.
SAG does though
well , 41 years of consistency tells you something but then again these numbers are all meaningless since every year is an independent incident so using SAG or GG is not definitive since the matching percentage is not 100%
-
well , the last time a GG winner didn't get nominated for an oscar was 41 years ago but look what happened
-
It is highly unlikely that Denzel wins , can't see him pulling a Sean Penn this year

LLL will win , comparing it to previous musicals is not really apples to apples

Qwhite interesting a film where a white man trying to save jazz will win over the likes of films like Hidden Figures and Moonlight with plenty of people of color.
so more people of color translates into a better movie ?

"Everything else" just means the critics' awards and the Globe so it's possible Affleck has been this year Fincher/Linklater of the best actor race all along. It's definitely a race now.
will probably win the BAFTA too , Denzel isn't even nominated there
this SAG was more like " hey this great actor has like 500 awards and not a single one from us so let's give him this one because we don't know if he will be as good as this year with not many close performances by other actors in the near future " , the oscar can still go his way but the chances are weak
-
nah , denzel only has the SAG , everything else went to Affleck
the four acting cats are pretty much locked
-
I don't think this decreases Affleck's chances , still the heavy favorite

LLL and Zootopia won the PGA , on their way to win the oscars
nothing surprising there

-
LLL has 10 oscars in the bag , competing for screenplay and sound editing , losing actor and a song obviously
-
the early release doesn't sound too promising
-
this is not a contest fellas , Affleck wins no matter what
-
Why are we ruling out the screenplay win for LLL ??? just because it is a musical doesn't mean it is losing this

Most people don't care about these mundane, little, inconsequential movies, engineered in labs to please a certain type of people.
Well , most people LOVE Dwayne johnson , Vin Diesel , Liam neeson and Margot robbie movies and we all know what kinds of movies those tend to be

There are no words to describe the " we chose Nega and Streep over Adams " thing that just happened

Honestly Affleck's performance was very far ahead of the other 4 , people shouldn't wish him to lose because of something personal that happened in the past
