  1. My official review of Assassin's Creed. Yeah, it ain't good. The search for a good video game movie continues.
  2. Except your biases for the film makes assumptions about it that aren't necessarily true either. The cinematography was not that good. Action was not that well put together, and the production design is nothing special. Visually the film looked dreary, foggy and hazy. Everything set in the 15th century is covered in this ugly glare that's present through all the scenes. The script is awful. The performances are also all awful.
  3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Jurassic World sequel, The LEGO Movie 2. If there are any guaranteed film hits in the world, its them.
  4. Deadline broke embargo for Rogue One and their review was glowing. So it's not ALWAYS the case.
  5. Pratt and Lawrence got paid what they got paid. They are both big stars. No reason to see why they wouldn't get big paydays again. Pratt has plenty of big projects coming up that will raise his asking price. Even if this movie bombs, it's not going to kill their power as film leads. Now if they keep doing a bunch back to back, yeah that could negatively impact their careers. But Pratt for instance has plenty of other hits he's lining up so he will be OK. I'm sure Lawrence will be fine as well.
  6. There is something about video games that don't translate and films don't capture. Games are a step beyond movies because they enable gamers to become those characters in epic stories.
  7. Sure they can get salaries like that again. Jennifer Lawrence is still a big star and has an Academy Award. Pratt still has Jurassic World sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and The LEGO Movie.
  8. Why are people getting so touchy about a movie they haven't even seen? A lot of big stars are in movies and they don't always land. It happens. We'll see what happens here.
  9. Just FYI, this movie cost over $200 million, and it's projections have it at about $20 million for its opening weekend. So yeah.
  10. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/passengers_2016/ Film is getting pretty abysmal reviews so far. I saw the movie and enjoyed it. I think some people are overly fixated on the wrong things or over-exaggerating them.
  11. It's mind-boggling though if they are given the same embargoes and they violate them without reciprocation. I doubt anything happens to Deadline and Hammond as a result, unless you have information otherwise.
  12. The embargo lifts on December 19 12PM PST/3PM EST. Also, even though there are embargoes, people don't follow them or violate them outright. FYI, Pete Hammond outright violated the review embargo for Rogue One and no one batted an eyelash.
