We now have 1970s stock, a great leap forward.

If you go look at the top 50 grossing movies in China and peel out the Hollywood movies, it tells you all you need to know.

Probably the best thing you will read on the internet today.
Very accurate and surgical breakdown of Christmas....from a Muslim point of view.

Gotta say though, this is worth seeing just to see Gal Gadot in action.
She is out of this world and her emotional delivery is just mmmmmmmmm.

Had, to leave it a while to process my thoughts.
I did like the movie, but not as much as the first.
There are some genuinely emotional scenes but also too much fan service that will leave those outside the Anglo Saxon world going "wtf".
These links to the comics just don't work in 2020.
I can understand why it is getting mixed reactions.

The joker had nothing going for it either from a connection standpoint and despite the acting being phenomenal it was incredibly dark gritty and depressing yet it dominated.
Aquaman had horrible ties just coming after a dumpster fire Justice league and did excellent. Those connections don't mean near as much as you assume they do
Apparently the Chinese have the hots for Tom Hardy, Jason Momoa and Vin Diesel.
Who can blame them?

Do you guys think it's possible to see Cheetah again? My dream to see her in Suicide Squad is almost dead.
Maybe Circe can make her a predator again?
She never renounced her wish.😉

You know you don’t have to be condescending to other people and cultures because they don’t like a kids movie you like
That would be fair comment if Venom didn't exist.

TENET is tough because theaters basically reopened for that movie and it did bring them so SORELY neeeded revenue (even if it isn't much). I am also still of the opinion that that film would not have don't close to as well as some around expected. The marketing beyond terrible.
This, sadly, looks to have been a true megahit in usual times. I could see this doing surprisingly well for the circumstances but ugh. This looks like it would have been a $150/450/$1.1-1.2b global hit.
Seems unlikely, it would have needed China to hit those numbers and China numbers are not that great.

I've seen it! Everyone nailed it: Gal, Kristen, Pedro, Patty.
Zimmer had the audacity to do one of his best works wow what a musician. The sound mixing/editing in this is incredible.
I was impressed at how many people she moved to see her here. I wasn't expecting this at all.
And yes I found it better than the first one.
Did Chris phone it in?

Maybe they expected a larger opening from China but it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen. Looks like this will open to less then the first in China.
I read somewhere that China sabotaged it by moving one of its anticipated local films into the same slot.

I’m really curious to see how this does OW. What are we thinking? Over Tenet? Or not enough theaters at this point?

I got goosebumps when they did the Hans Zimmer segment on the virtual premier.

Collider is the first rotten on RT.
That doesn't surprise me, they praised the first one through gritted teeth.

IGN said it’s better than the first film too. That’s surprising.
In my eyes it can’t be surpassed lol
Too true!

I've seen a bunch more impressions on twitter all of them positive.
Could be in the 90s again .

Yes I understand that, but what do you mean by "PVOD has to be announced"? Isn't WW84 getting simultaneous VOD and cinema release anyway?
WW84 is still gonna be released in much of the UK theatrically.
Pay per view on SKY TV.
There is deal to show it on SKY Cinema in January. Hopefully, they pull it forward like they did in Canada.

Yeh I don’t think it’ll be making any bank. Last weekends #1 made £44k.
Basically no Scotland, no Ireland and a small amount of English cinemas. I’m just glad I get to see it. I think the plan is to go to sky box office on the 16th January. Then I’m guessing disc in March?
We have the lowest IR in the UK @ 30/100k yet our local cinema is closed (Cineworld).
So I'm popping on a ferry across to Southampton, they have a Showcase cinema with Xplus screens which are showing it.
The great thing about Showcase CInemas is that they have well spaced electric recliners seats with walls between rows, so there is plenty of space for social distancing built in as standard.

Just rewatched the first film in 4K in prep for next Sunday. I’m so excited now. That first film really is terrific.
Someone asked about adverts, I’ve had TV spots here in the UK during some big shows (I’m A Celebrity - 10-11m) but the problem is so few cinemas are open. It’ll play for 1 month in cinemas in the UK, but I doubt more will be open soon
I've seen 1 advert.
Likelyhood is that London will shut down on the 19th. So it had 3 days to make bank.
